It was on a cold wet Friday night that we went to the Golden Wok with a group of friends. While parking a rat ran away, but it would be a bit short of the turn to attribute this to the Golden Wok. Upon entering there is a corridor that is reminiscent of an Asian temple. But then there are the slot machines and it feels like a walk of shame. Since a part of us was too early we were directed to the Lounge to wait for the rest of the group. The lounge is a kind of nightclub, but without music and strippers. Possibly drugs, but we have not asked for that.
Once complete we could, laden with 40 coins for 10 people, at the table. The coins are for the alcoholic drinks, Diabetes (Soft Drink) is for free. Great schrasing could begin! First of all, the sushi has arrived. The sushi looked pretty good, but it all tasted the same. Especially the salmon is magical: when you start chewing, you think "this is salmon" and then at the very last moment, some salmon flavor is released, so you can just distinguish the salmon from the rice! The fried items are fine, but if you know how to endure that as a restaurant you can not do anything.
But the golden times had yet to begin. After all, it is called the golden wok, so that wok must be fantastic! The cooks themselves, however, seem different because the best men look like they can throw themselves into the wok at any moment to put an end to their miserable existence. The food tasted so: miserable, as far as that is a taste. As if the hope of giving some flavor to the food is gone. A bit like people who think that a golden shower means a golden shower, although it was not "tasty salt" but just tasteless.
The beer was nice. However, I can compliment the ministry for their sustainable approach. They checked neatly whether your glass was still clean so that it could be put back in the other clean glasses!
