I tried to make an appointment with a doctor (switch PCPs) and they never called me back saying that my insurance accepted it. I have Medicare and Medicaid. I asked them if there was an available appointment (This was almost 5 months ago) and they asked me what medications I'm on. I have chronic pain so I do take opioid pain medication, and they basically judged me and said to me "You know if you go here, they're not going to prescribe you narcotics." Did I ask? No! I have an OBGYN who takes care of my pain, she's my pain management doctor. I just needed to go there to get my blood work checked, and they made me feel like a criminal. Kind of glad now they didn't call me back with my insurance, they seem really snobby and condescending there. Just because you have psychiatric problems and medical problems doesn't mean you're a junkie.
