This is a decent place to go if you are looking for a restaurant that can accommodate both vegans and non-vegans.

I went with the intention of getting the Quinoa & Sunflower Seed Veggie Burger. I was impressed that they offer vegan gouda as an option, and they get an extra star just for that (I was going to do three stars otherwise.)

After the burger came out, I noticed that the bun looked a bit brioche-y. I asked the server to double-check if it was vegan and they returned to let me know that the bun is not, in fact, vegan. I appreciate that the server let me know before I ate the bun; however, it's a bit confounding that the restaurant offers a vegan burger with vegan cheese but does not have a vegan bun available - especially considering a lot of bread is vegan by default.

I was a bit sad to lose the bun, but the rest of the meal tasted good.

For dessert, I had the dairy-free ice cream. They also have sorbet.

Overall, if you are dining with people who want non-vegan options alongside your vegan options, Akasha can meet that need. Just be careful to ask about which foods are vegan and which are not because the menu does not label them, and the servers do not seem to know unless you ask them to double-check.
