Went in with full intention to lease a 2016 Grand ...

Went in with full intention to lease a 2016 Grand Cherokee Limited or Special Addition. Sales person was nice. Test drove 1 car (Overland version). Sales rep tried to upsell us (they always do don't they!) on this next level car from what we wanted, but we inquired about the lease rate for this one anyway. Sales rep goes to speak with manager to try and lower price to range of Limited edition. Manager came in and shut down the sales rep and us by quoting outrageous lease rates without even asking about terms and what our down payment would be. Told us in a round about way that we can't afford their luxury product. Basically walked us out the door without even offering alternatives. I already had conversations (via email) with the sales rep prior to our visit and was even quoted on a Limited that was within the range we were looking to pay. Manager would have none of it so our transaction was done. Did not want to talk or negotiate anything. We were at end of lease with a 2014 Mercedes GLK which cost more than the Jeep we were looking at! We can afford the product but the (manager) had no intention to deal with us for some unknown reason. So dismissive and rude. I felt bad for the sales rep. It was embarrassing for him. They lost a deal today as we were in there to lease right away! We will go to another dealership and they will get our dollars.
