Enjoyed our guided tour via 7 seat golf cart. Costs about $5 extra and was worth it to get a lot more info about the area than just reading signs.
Most, if not all of the buildings have been remodeled based on historic records instead of 1960s era color schemes etc.
The tour takes about 2 hours, but is a good way to spend a "free day" while visiting the area. Little kids wouldn't like the tour or teens for that matter, but they might enjoy the camps they offer since they are hands on.
The golf cart ("tram") should have a way to carry a wheelchair so it doesn't need to be shoved between the seats and knees of people not using it when the tram is full. That was the only issue we had.
