We booked a house quite last minute for the autumn holiday. Just the most basic version. The park is nice. Basically everything you expect at a Landal park is here. It is not a very extensive park. But fine for a midweek.

The plus points are the location in Drenthe, there is plenty to do in the area and the play island for the children is great fun. The play attic and swimming pool are great for kids up to the age of 8. Cottage for 4 people was spacious, there was even 1 extra room in the house that was completely unused. Handy for laundry drying or storage space.

The minus points were that the houses were very very basic, the furniture is not a meter, you can not watch TV with the two of you in the evening because it is not a meter. The bathroom lacks anything to hang or put your clothes / towels on. Or even to be able to put your soap in the shower. The beds were unfortunately not too good either. Seemed soft but in the end just sagged I think. The first night with us it seemed as if the house was going to take off with a heavy deep humming sound. The whole house did not vibrate great at 02.00 with 2 young children. Reported to the reception and it was corrected appeared to be something with the boiler. Hygiene was also moderate, Unfortunately still hair on the wall in the bathroom and downright dirty mugs in the kitchen with dirty stains in the kitchen.

Tip for Landal: Other furniture! And make sure that those cheapest houses are practically more of this time! You don't have to be more luxurious, but some extra pillows and better beds and furniture would make a big difference.
