I will always have a place in my heart for this place. In full disclosure, I worked at Beef & Boards briefly in 1986 in reservations. I don't think I was there even a year and until 2017, I have not been there in over a decade.

Now that I've got that of off the way... here goes.

Indiana may not be New York, but the Beef & Boards is a great place to get your Broadway itch scratched. Their musicals are fantastic and when my kids were real young my parents took my sister and I plus my hubby and my kids to the show. It was a magical night and the singing was wonderful. If you weren't in the holiday spirit before the show, you definitely were by the time you left. My dad had season tickets in 2017 and 2018 and he took me to a few shows. Like I said, that was the first time I had gone in years... probably closer to 20 years!

Now the biggest complaint I had with B&B was the food, but WOW they've really turned that around. I thought the food was great in 2017/2018. There were many good options, very flavorful with tender meats and my favorite was the salad stuff. So if you went years ago, don't let the food deter you; give it another chance.

If you've never been, you are really missing out. It's a great night for date... especially since you get dinner and a show. I'm not sure there's really a bad place to sit and they offer matinee performances on the weekends. You do want to be sure you get there on time if you want to eat. Once they put the food away, you are out of luck. I think they offer water, coffee and tea for free. You can also buy sodas and alcoholic beverages.

So if you're a little tired of the classic movie at a large theater with multiple screens, give some real theater a try. If you like watching live performances, you'll love Beef & Boards
