We used to come here when I was a kid. It was a fun attraction and a nice way to beat the heat during those hot Atlanta summers. There were tons of shops, a cool arcade and even a Johnny Rockets!

I was in Atlanta and killing time before my evening flight home recently and decided to catch the MARTA downtown grab a bite and check it for a dose of nostalgia.

WHAT. A. DUMP.

The entire place was overrun by sketchy people. About half of the shops are closed, as well. There was a food court, but the options were limited to grimy takeout Chinese and a fried chicken stand that was sold out.

There is absolutely no reason to go down there for anything, especially with kids. When I got outside, security guards were escorting two drunks away from the door.

It's a definite shame.
