If I could give a ZERO Stars - I would.

If I could give a ZERO Stars - I would.
Was completely misled on multiple occasions regarding facility operations. Made reservations directly with Trade Winds online, on their website, for Rumfish Resort. Received multiple emails regarding the Rumfish reservation. A reservation concierge called me to discuss my upcoming trip and what amenities were open and in operation. I even called 2 days before our check-in date with questions regarding our reservations. NOT ONE TIME did ANYONE MENTION THAT THE RUMFISH WAS CLOSED! We arrive at the Rumfish to check in and cannot even get into the parking lot as it was blocked off we had to back out into traffic to even get out of the drive/entry way. We were directed to the sister resort, Island Grand, for our stay. When I mentioned the closing, it was dismissed as yeah, it s been closed for Covid. Found out that the Rumfish was closed back in May 2020. I MADE MY RESERVATION ONE WEEK BEFORE TRAVEL ON AUGUST 12TH, 2020. WEEKS AFTER RUMFISH WAS CLOSED. NO ONE EVER EVEN MENTIONED THAT IT WAS CLOSED. I DID NOT WANT TO STAY AT THE ISLAND GRAND. IF I HAD KNOWN THAT THE RUMFISH WAS CLOSED, I WOULD HAVE BOOKED OUR VACATION WITH ANOTHER FACILITY. We traveled 10 hours from South Carolina to stay at the Rumfish!
When mentioning this to the staff at Island Grand, it was dismissed again. Not only was booking for a closed facility underhanded, they put us in one of the crappiest rooms available. We had roaches in our bathroom. Upon checking in, they automatically enrolled us into a timeshare presentation for the next morning and told us we had to be there without even asking if we were interested. They said it was only a 30-minute presentation. When arriving at the presentation the lady holding the meeting informed us it was a minimum of 2 hours. We refused to attend, and they said we would have to reschedule during our stay. We had to walk in the outside to get to our room something I DID NOT want to do. Over half of the amenities were closed. Pretty much everything we asked for we were denied or told it would be an additional fee. We were so frustrated that by the second day we asked to speak to a manager. The only resolution he offered was to check us out and give us the one-night room fee back we would have to pay for the resort fee for all the amenities that were closed and unusable r to move us to another room. Our issues were less about the room and mostly about everything else. Namely, the fact that they were misleading when reserving with the Rumfish Resort on multiple occasions. We checked out and went down the street to a hotel. Ended up spending less than half of what it would have cost to stay at the Island Grand for the same services. Keep in mind, we NEVER wanted to stay at the Island Grand in the first place. We wanted to stay at the Rumfish Resort. Which was closed long before we made reservations and no one, not a single person, mentioned that the Rumfish was closed.
