On August 24th an installer went to my house to install the Dish satellite service. He was let in by my girlfriend and told her he could only do the install the Dish without local channels. He however failed to mention that this would mean that we would not have ABC,NBC,CBS, or Fox. He also failed to mention that the Prime time Anytime part of the Dish network service would also stop working. These are services I am paying for and he intentionally mislead my girlfriend to continue with his install. He then proceeded to install the dish where I would not get the services I was paying for despite the fact that he had my phone number and never asked me for permission to do this. He was asked by my girlfriend to bring the service into the house in the utility closet in my basement. The installer ignored her instructions and brought the service into my house 4 feet up my living room wall. The install is unsightly and unprofessional. He then proceeded to run the cable through a copper pipe in the wall and then through the closet he should have brought the line into in the first place. The he ran a black cable 1 inch from the bottom of my siding with no less than 20 screws across the entire back of my house. The siding is damaged. He also grounded the system to a painted surface and the whole system is a fire and electrocution hazard. On top of everything else he also left a mess wherever he drilled! I complained to dish and on Wednesday August 29th they sent their "field service manager" out to review the job. He treated me rudely during his visit and reported back to Dish that the installation was fine. Dish now refuses to fix the installation to make my services work or to repair the damages to my house based on his report.
Consumer's Desired Resolution:
I'd like them to come back and repair the damage to my roof, siding and interior. I would also like them to either get my service to work properly or let me out of their contract. Their want to charge me $360 to terminate the service that doesn't work and to repair the damages out of my own pocket.
