Review of Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resor...

Was really looking forward to our stay here in Ras...

Was really looking forward to our stay here in Rasa sayang and while some things about this place was stella. The activities were fun and there was something for everyone. From water sports to racquet games to beach activities. However, there was more than a few things that were not up to par and that was enough to cement the fact that we would not stay here again in the future.

Firstly, the service. When we checked in, they took more than an hour to provide us with our rooms. We had booked 7 rooms in total and had requested to have the rooms paired up and put on the same floor so that each family would be together (we understood that having all 7 rooms on the same floor was highly unachievable). However, they did not seem to be able to achieve that until after much prompting. On top of that, when we checked out. We had to wait almost 1.5 hours for the bill and golden circle points to be confirmed and for them to check us out. As we were rushing for a flight, we only had 2.5 hours to get to the flight. (some context: to get to the airport, it'll take slightly about an hour) All the staff seemed to hide in the backroom everytime there was a slight problem or when they did not want to do something (like make drinks for the children - the staff refused to take their order).

Next, breakfast at ferringgi grill. The service was pleasant and the food was really really good. However, the orders kept getting confused or they kept forgetting to submit the orders into the system. As a results, we sometimes only got our drinks an hour or more after we had ordered them. This was really frustrating as we had other activities planned for the day and that put a real damper to our plans.

Housekeeping was alright but extremely inconsistent. For some rooms, the water was not even refilled while others got extra snacks on top of the original kidkat bar. This was really disappointing. We had to search for our own water as tap water is not potable in Malaysia.

To end off on a more positive note, I would like to commend the lady who organised the beach volleyball activity for us (sadly did not get her name). She was extremely welcoming to everyone, including the young children that had come along with us. She was extremely cheery as well and that really put us in good spirits. We all had a lot of fun playing beach volleyball even though we really are not any good.

Would not recommend this place to my friends or family. This service is definitely not worth the price paid for this hotel.
