We wanted to celebrate my girlfriend's 40th birthday with a special dinner at Pure C. Because it is so remote, we booked a package that included an overnight stay in the beach hotel. Unfortunately due to storm damage the restaurant was closed shortly before dinner. As an alternative we were offered to eat in restaurant Blueness. Fine food, but because of that we have not been in the car 2x 240km. We would get the money back for dinner at Pure C, but just pay for Blueness. As a saving grace we got a cocktail on the house (which due to a mistake behind the bar was only served after the 2nd course, but that aside).
The next morning we hoped in any case to sleep in, but at 7:45 am we were brutally awakened by constant drilling and hammering due to an (unnamed) renovation in the hotel. We therefore immediately went for breakfast and then went home.

I explained to them in an email that the whole package had a total value of 0 to us due to these 2 incidents, while I still lost almost 450. I have asked for either a refund or the possibility to do the entire package at their expense. Eventually I got the offer of about 30% discount if I would book this package again. The dinner at Pure C, which was our concern, would then add up to almost 800 (without drinks). A worthless offer as far as I am concerned. Their own cancellation conditions state that - even for compelling reasons of force majeure - 100% must be paid less than 24 hours in advance.

You do not pass on business risk to your customers! And a major renovation in the hotel not mentioned during booking is unacceptable. Especially in this segment!

Apparently they are only concerned with money, not customer experience. Zeeland thrifty economy. A very bad experience! We would have liked to eat there, but unfortunately I cannot give more than 1 star because of this.
