Kasanka National Park hosts one of Africa s most unusual wildlife spectacles and the biggest mammal migration in the world when millions of straw-coloured fruit bats congregate in this tiny bit of Zambia.

The migration starts around the end of October each year and lasts around six weeks whilst the bats feast on seasonal fruits including waterberries and loquats. Numbers of bats are most dramatic from the last week of October to the 3rd week of December.
