This is a prime example of what s wrong with the NHS. Poor service, inadequate staff, unorganized, very dated and depressing. Not all NHS facilities are like this but unfortunately that s the post code lottery.

I ve been there several times and can tell you that it s best to get there at 8:00 am if you re going for a blood test. If you get there after 9:00 am you ll have to wait a very long time. I waited one hour, 45 minutes when I went in the morning. On Fridays it s kind of a free for all where they take patients who didn t take a number first which seems terribly unfair for those of us who followed the rules and take a number and wait.

My biggest issue is with the experience and skill of the phlebotomists. They re rubbish and one should be fired immediately as she is endangering patients with her lack of skill. Look at my arm (see the photos) and you ll see that she clearly screwed up and caused a massive painful bruise immediately after my blood test. That s never happened to me before and I ve been blood test regularly in different areas of the UK and even other countries so this says a lot.

My forearm immediately became extremely painful as if it was sprained right after the test. No one should leave a blood test like. I couldn t carry anything with that arm for three days because of the pain and I m not old and weight train. That s how bad it was.

Never going there again. Will go out of my way to get my blood taken elsewhere.
