Lars Idorson Review of Cascadia Solar Design

We contracted with Frederickson Electric to do the electrical wiring on the house we had built in 2015. We were immediately impressed with both the quality, efficiency, and thoroughness of their work. So, when it came time to think about adding a solar array to the house, Frederickson Electric was our first consideration. Cascadia Solar is the subsidiary of that company which handles the photovoltaic side of their business. Dave Campbell heads the organization and creates the proposals, contracts, and coordinates the procurement and installation of the equipment components. He also is responsible for attaining all of the necessary permit applications and scheduling the required inspections. Dave is knowledgeable in all facets of the solar industry and is adept in conveying and presenting information in a concise and friendly manner. He adds a personal touch to demystifying what can be a difficult subject to understand. He always took whatever time was necessary to ensure that my wife and I understood all of the various aspects of our solar project.
We opted for a 9.3 kW system, which uses 30 Silfab SIL-310 modules, Solar Edge optimizers and a Solar Edge inverter. The system also sports an LG battery backup. We signed on in mid March 2020 and were in line for an April installation but in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Governor issued his "Stay Home Stay Healthy" order and put Washington State into lock-down. This delayed the actual installation until mid May.
The installation crew consisted of three employees of Frederickson Electric. The lead electrician on the job was Eugene (Gene), along with two helpers, Ethan and Payton, who installed the racking, solar panels, and ran the PV string wiring. Gene had been one of the electricians that had originally wired the house and I was happy that he was on the job again.
The install took the better part of five days and went without a hitch. The workmanship was excellent and both my wife and I are very pleased and thankful we chose Cascadia Solar for our photovoltaic system.
The Solar Edge inverter comes with a monitoring system which is both user friendly and fascinating to use. So far the solar panels have generated a high of 7.8 kW and one day the system produced over 53 kW.
