This place is awesome. They run Helen's Hope Chest for children and VITA where community volunteers can prepare your taxes if household AGI (total income of the year) is 54000 or below and you're returns aren't too complex (Married Filing Separate may be turned away, rental property (except military and renters credit at Red Mountain Library), sold property other than your primary home, are bankrupt or planning to file for bankruptcy, taxpayers with complex depreciation calculations, self employed with extensive losses, etc). When VITA finishes (January 31-April 15), people can still get tax returns done at this office by appointment. They even have partner with other organizations to provide services and to assist those agencies such as United Food Bank and have been approved by the Mayor Miles and Governor Doucey. VITA is a nationwide program that partners the IRS with city governments and nonprofits to provide free tax preparation for low to moderate income families. Also United Way is a nationwide nonprofit agency with multiple chapters across the country. The mission of United Way is to provide financial stability to families helping to connect people to resources so they can prosper.
