I'm really glad we spent a night on the Giudecca in addition to a couple of nights on the main island. Whilst the location may initially seem a bit out of the way, that was all part of the appeal. Having to rely on the shuttle boat can be a bit inconvenient, but the quieter local feel of the Giudecca was a great antidote to seemingly relentless hordes of tourists on the main island. There are great views to be had - particularly at sunset - and there are a few cheap, good quality, and less touristy places to eat on the island along the waterfront - just a short stroll from the hotel.

The rooftop pool was very nice, and offered great views out over the city.

The main criticism I'd have of the hotel is that the walls are too thin - we could hear our neighbours talking very clearly (and unfortunately they decided to have a conversation at 4am).
