This was to be the highlight of our vacation to New Orleans. My husband had looked at the menu a month before, so excited to eat here. No wait on a Monday and we were seated quick. Our server, Marcus, was friendly and knowledgeable. My husband had the triple play. ( fried shrimp, bbq grilled shrimp, and shrimp cheese mixture along with a twice baked tater and coleslaw) bless his heart it came out and he was disappointed in the 27.99 platter. The tater was cold in the middle, the shrimp was fresh and the cole slaw was good...but over all mediocre to say the most. There wasn't even French bread to dip the cheese/shrimp mixture. He ordered a side salad for our daughter who's a vegetarian and didn't have much on the menu for her. ( which is totally fine) THE 4 99 SALAD HAD SO MANY BROWN PIECES OF LETTUCE I WAS SHOCKED THE KITCHEN SENT IT OUT. The salad was nice size, had boiled egg pieces, croutons and green beans. One cucumber slice and one cherry tomato. But brown pieces ? Come on now.
I ordered the small etouffee. It had a "COLD skin" on it. Wasn't hot and I question the freshness. Flavor was ok. Nothing to write home to mama about. $9.99 was an ok serving. My 2 youngest daughters had kids plates at 11.99 and 10.99. Came with canned mandarin oranges and yummy fries. Super good size plates for kids. Chicken tenders were the highlight of the ENTIRE meal. overall pass this place up and save your $84.00 after tip. Hope Marcus gets to a place that deserves his joy. ( we don't see food pack by the way or complain to staff. A dish should come out right, well made and quality at almost 30 bucks a plate)
