I can't speak to the rooms or accommodation, but I did *attempt* to bring my family for some drinks in their cafe, where we have been before. Unfortunately we experienced some obnoxious service before even entering and decided to go elsewhere.

It is perfectly acceptable to have a minimum bill for your cafe. We would have happily paid, and likely spent well over the minimum.

It is NOT acceptable, however, to leave your guests waiting on a cold dock for 10-15 minutes before an unhurried hospitality fellow informs those guests that they must pay that minimum bill up front, in cash, on a windy dock.

Cover charge is for clubs and teenage parties where people drink out of plastic cups. It is not something that a reputable hotel should even *entertain*, and to turn us away for wanting to pay for our drinks at our table like normal people is an embarrassement for a hotel with a reputation like this.

I live in Egypt, and will not be returning or bringing my colleagues unless this Motel-type policy is reversed.
