I went to Excel seeking a physiatrist consultation for lingering complications from a sports injury that didn't fully resolve. Dr. Tanden did a thorough exam and patient history before ordering imaging, which revealed a herniated disc that other providers whom I saw had overlooked and not suspected, as well as a mild hip impingement that I'm glad we caught early! I was impressed with the professionalism of everyone involved, and the speed with which the imaging was done. Dr. Tanden also did something that I really appreciated: she asked me how I felt about doing imaging, and what course of action I wanted to take once the imaging was done and the problems were revealed. A lot of providers don't do this, and it made the doctor-patient relationship feel like a team effort, which I think is healthy and heartening.

I can't speak to Excel's surgeons or physical therapists, but if you've got a sports injury and you're seeking a solid examination from a physiatrist, I recommend Dr. Tanden!
