I'm a regular--whenever I'm in Boone for work, and I go to Vidalia as often as I can. It's bliss to sit at the bar, read a book, sip a good wine, and have amazing food that is both visually and gustatorily (hmm...that really is a word...!) superb. I love how they combine all the elements to reach a pleasing balance--nothing is overrepresented and nothing clashes. So elegant and...intelligent, even! My hometown has many wonderful and highly praised restaurants, but I would put Vidalia up against any of them, and I could pretty much guarantee that Vidalia's prices would be lower. The server is always attentive and helpful (I was surprised to read an earlier review that panned the service--but then I've never been more than a party of one). So, GO! But leave a seat open at the bar for me...
