High Tea on Sunday. I was here on a warm Sunday afternoon with girlfriends for a high tea for my birthday. It was about 25 degrees and we were covered with large umbrellas that offered half shade. After everyone had arrived, 2 jugs of hot water and 2 tea boxes were put down and moments later 2 bowls with floors with snacks (see photo) and scones and that was it. For each one there was 1 snack of the same. When placing the bowls it was said to start with the chocolate first, because of the warm weather it would melt immediately, but because the sandwiches also contained fish, they had to be consumed quickly. Then we felt we had to eat it because otherwise it would melt or spoil, with the result that the snacks were already finished after half an hour and the 'high tea' had ended. After that we were offered nothing more, no more snacks or tea water. My girlfriend later asked for tea, after which 2 more jugs were put down. I would have thought it better and more entertaining if the snacks had come in stages, first for example sweet and then savory (also taking into account the warm weather) this was very unfortunate how things went now, I also thought it was little, there was 1 snack per piece per person and I did not come "full" from it, in short I would not do a high tea again so quickly.
