My wife and I had dinner before a MSO performance. We never go to restaurants like this and since we had a gift certificate to a Bartolatta's restaurant, we thought we would go here for a nice meal before the symphony.

My wife had the twin lobster tails. I had the venison special. The food was great from the relish tray to desserts we had. The carrot cake is so very moist. I personally did not like the frosting, but I do not like any frosting, so I am gong to leave the judgement of the carrot cake frosting to others who do like frosting. My wife felt the second lobster tail and butter cooled a little too quick. For me, the venison was cooked exactly like I would want any red meat cooked, the spinach was incredible (I hate cooked spinach -- this was phenomenal), and the cooked tomatoes were so good I thought about asking for some for dessert.

My one and only complaint of this restaurant is the naming of the drinks. For the James Bond fans out there, Joey Gerard's has the "Vesper" martini on the menu. They do not use the same ingredients as outlined in Fleming's Casino Royale. I do not think any one in the US can use the same ingredients as Fleming outlined. I do wish that the menu had the "Vesper" name. If I had not researched the martini I would not have known that "Jpey's Martini" is a variation of the "Vesper." This is the only place I have found in the Milwaukee area to serve this martini. It was delicious!

Our bill came to abut $110.00. We had a healthy gift card. I would have to say, though, that I would think it was worth it without the gift card.

Go to the restaurant. I think it is the best of all the Bartolotta restaurants.
