It is not a huge university, but a personable college, and this only adds to the quality.

Salem College had a fantastic fine arts division with unique and critical programs that are very needed but sometimes overlooked by profit minded larger institutions.

The music department offers a great opportunity to work with Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink, an innovator and pioneer in injury prevention within the professional music field. While injuries are far too common with professional musicians, knowledge and experience with prevention and recovery is sadly too lacking in the field.

Dr Lister-Sink has championed the need and worked tirelessly to bring this deficit to light while at the same time implementing standards and measures aimed at eliminating this ignorance.

Anyone who has the opportunity to study under her mentorship will benefit greatly.
