This place is amazing. I spent about two hours there but could've easily spent twice that. I was in Amsterdam on a long layover, and from the airport, you can get a bus directly to the gardens. You can catch it back to the airport as well, and the drive to and from gives you a good view of the Amsterdam countryside and tulip fields. Can't reneger the name of the bus, but it should be easy enough to Google 'cause it's so popular. The buses run every 10 or 15 minutes, so it's pretty efficient.
