Make sure you book your tickets in advance as they're very strict with the number of people allowed in the museum each day. There is a cinema where you can view a Ghibli short (keep in mind it won't have subtitles!). There is a fantastic kids play area, a small cafe and great little rooms where you can view Ghibli art! I also recommend walking around Inokashira Park which is right next to the museum! There is also a zoo right nearby if you want to make a day of it with your family!
