We were moving from upstate NY to Cape Coral and decided to rent until we became familiar with the city. We found a house being offered by Rossman and started emailing back and forth (wanting pics, filling out applications, etc.). We should have known that the "property manager" was LAZY when he kept making excuses to take requested pics. From then on out it was a struggle to get him to do anything! We had 2 major issues (water pipe broke in a wall and soaked carpet & pool liner had a hole and was emptying out fast) that I had to manage and keep the "property manager" up to date with the progress. Each fix took over 3 weeks and I was out of pocket money that he claimed he would reimburse. The final straw was when he mailed us a renewal lease with rent increase and only gave us 2 days to respond. We chose to look for a house!
Our concern was our $1,800 security deposit as we turned in our out of pocket expenses for the fix and it was as if he "ghosted" us. We figured he was mad that we chose to move and we were nervous we would have a court process to get our security back. Our friend told us to call his manager Crissy. She was WONDERFUL!!! She listened to our concerns without judgement, she asked us to email her our out of pocket expenses for the fix, and informed us that we should have called her sooner as she could have helped. We apologized as this was our first time renting from a property company, no less in a state we have never lived in. We received both our out of pocket expenses AND our full security deposit back...Crissy is the ONLY reason the Rossman is getting so many stars!! Thank you Crissy!!!
