Review of Glen Mhor Hotel

Like other hotels in Inverness, the pictures on their website are not a true representation of the reality, as stated by others on review sites.

Upon arrival at 2pm a rude Spanish woman on reception, who was basically rude to everyone, was dealing with a compliant, (one of many I overheard here). You are dumped in a 'holding room' with other people and luggage and there you sit. Waiting 'til 3pm as they won't be checking you in a minute before.

If you think you are given a drink at this time, forget it. The hotel bar, unlike any others on this planet, opens at 4pm?

(Noticed the times of things? It's to meet their needs and not yours).

The room was a like a filthy bedsit. The carpet was grubby, so I stood on a towel in bare feet.

Old wooden and dated bedroom furniture. A crumpled lampshade. Stain down a tub chair. But the bed had a decorative throw over it although I think there are more basic needs here like shampooing the carpet.

Black hairs on and in the bed and in the bathroom are provided free of charge.

The TV is cheap (from Tescos and their brand) and then you have the appalling breakfast, thrown in a messy manner on the hot plate.

A woman aged around 60 with grey hair, lays into you if you don't track her down in the breakfast room, (she has no awareness of her duties to find you as you are the guest). You must tell her your room number and she will then have an argument with you at the table, saying rudely, "You didn't give me your room number", defending herself if you point out that she was nowhere to be seen and then she walks off to her pertch in a hump. If you think she is going to say, " Good morning sir, how are you this morning? May I have your room number..." she isn't.

Cleaverly, there is an express checkout box for you to check out. (So they don't have to ask "how was your stay" as the answer would be "never returning").

In fact I went to reception and saw said arsey Spanish woman who didn't even ask how my stay was when I enquired about checking out.

If money was spent on this hotel it would be great, but it is run appallingly.

Before Mr or Mrs or non gendered hotel manager comes rattling on here in response to this post, I have no intention of interacting on site with any of your staff as they are rude and when guests asked to see the manager to complain, they were told you were not free and would call them so I have better things to do with my time than complain to you, in person. You don't warrant any respect from me as your hotel showed me nothing.

Don't like the review?

Hand your notice in as the manager and go and work somewhere else as you don't know what you are doing.

To be fair to the hotel, rudeness is part of Inverness. People are suspicious, rude and cold we found there. Won't be returning to the hotel or Inverness, ever. Glasgow and Edinburgh much friendlier.
