My wife and I went to the May 5th show Summer In Smoke .When I asked for a play bill I was told they would be given out at the end of the play.I was told that this is what the director wants.
I ve seen over 500 plays and always was given a playbill before the play.I ve seen plays in London as well as the Tennessee Williams festival in New Orleans.Never a problem with playbills.
The idea of a playbill is to give the patron the basics as well as who s who in the cast .
I guess director Jack Cummings III feels that all theater patrons are as versed as he is and don t need a playbill.
When this theater sells ticket tell the patron up front that no playbills will be given before the play.
Ticket prices are high enough.Bottom line is the director did not pay for my ticket.
