We were extremely disappointed. The services are overpriced for what they are, my husband's treatment was substandard, and the employees were rude and inattentive. The mineral bath appointment started late, and when we asked at the desk about when it would be ready, the response was dismissive. I am generally very understanding that working in the service industry can be stressful, especially because some customers can be really rude, but this was different. We did not feel welcome, to say the least.

Instead, I would recommend La Provence Spa for really high-quality therapeutic treatments (they are truly amazing) and Spa of the Rockies if you like the whistles-and-bells and amenities (great people, too). Specifically, if you are looking for a mineral bath, the one at the Spa of the Rockies is far superior to what we encountered at Yampah, for a comparable price.

All of that said, if you're just going for the vapor caves (and not the spa), sitting in the caves for a little while can be beneficial for the sinuses and winter dryness in general. I preferred the hot springs pool personally, but some people might prefer the vapors instead. I doubt we'll go back to the caves since a steam shower accomplishes the same thing, but we might try it again just to see if we have a better experience.

Oh, one other thing: the spa waiting room smelled strongly hair chemicals because someone was getting a color treatment or something done. It was a very powerful that overwhelmed the small room.
