I've had two children here and had two different experiences. With my first we had to cross picket lines when nurses were on strike. I was devastated because we had heard such amazing things about the L&D nurses. My experience wasn't bad but it wasn't what I expected. The nurses told us they were traveling nurses and they weren't the most helpful when I learned how to nurse... which took some time! The second time around we got the full LCOM experience and our nurses were amazing! I was so pleased with EVERY single nurse. I had an unexpected csection and am so grateful they were there to support me through it. I wanted to be friends with every single one of them- they were so nice, friendly, and such cool people. Big thanks to Sarah, Katie, Donna, Darlene, and Donna. I did get home to see that my daughters middle name (my last name) was spelled incorrectly. That was my fault. I was so eager to leave I must've not noticed the misspelling. I called the birth clerk, Shirley, and she called me back and had remedied the situation more than expected. She had called the county and spoken with the manager to coordinate changing the spelling. She was thorough and walked me through the process, gave me the required paperwork which she had filled out, and never once blamed me for the error. She was SO helpful! The facilities are nice- I got to stay in the same room for delivery and recovery, which was great.
