A Jones Review of The Catering Company of Willia...
I started off so excited with the Catering Company...
I started off so excited with the Catering Company for our wedding. It wasn't until our wedding was almost here that I became incredibly disappointed. I the investment we made in the catering company was our most significant cost. I thought it was a dream come true to have great food and a choice of linens for free, and a HUGE selling point was that the husband, Craig, is a "master mind of center pieces and table design." I was FURIOUS to find out just days from our wedding that Laura and Craig would not be present at our wedding. We were assured that their staff understood everything we dreamt of especially because I had very detailed diagrams (i.e. number of tables, set up of tables, number of chairs at each table, number of candles for each table etc.). Reality came NO WHERE close to what I had planned. Luckily my husband checked out the set up early, and he was able to catch the lack of tables and the fact that chairs were missing from EVERY table. I was also assured that the staff would easily be able to put out the flowers I prepared because I acted as my florist. They did not put them out as planned, and I found many tucked away in corners while there were multiple bare tables. I had originally planned to have a family member do this, and when I was told the staff could handle it I canceled those plans. Similarly, I was meticulous in organizing decorations for each table (numbering boxes and having diagrams on the boxes), and only about half of the decorations were used. I feel now that it is clear they are only a "mastermind of centerpieces" if you pay for their decorations. They also destroyed my cakes (I had a variety of single and two-tier bundt cakes) because they were not refrigerated as they were supposed to be, so my desert table looked terrible. The clean up was also terrible. I came home with multiple broken vases, missing vases, half the table numbers broken, and my beautiful cake topper completely smashed. They also threw away 40 feet of eucalyptus garland, without asking us, that I was planning to use afterwards. There were many other things that to me went wrong, such as not informing us of alcohol that ran out (which they said they would do and make a run to the store to replenish if needed), throwing away wedding keepsakes, missing alcohol. When we scheduled a meeting to discuss the amount that went wrong and our loss financially with things that went missing, we were essentially told that we should have hired more professionals and that if "95% of the balls are in place then 5% dropped is considered a successful event," which is ridiculous when those 5% were HUGE. They also said the would follow up with us on the missing leftover alcohol, decorations, and keepsakes, and they never did. I was so unpleased with this company overall that I would not even suggest them even though the food was great . Definitely overpriced, but great. I still get compliments on the food to this day.
