I requested medical records, which arrived three weeks later on CD, with an invoice. I pay for the records, my first Medicopy interaction. But the CD is great, because I won't have to scan/digitize records. I open the CD. "Call Medicopy for password". I have the records, but still have to call in?! That's different. So I call. Rep promptly takes about five pieces of information, then gives me the wrong password, which does not open the file. So, second call. Rep gives me a totally different password, which she says opens all their data CDs. (First rep didn't know this?) Oookay. So finally I can open the CD. But...it's still password protected, so I can't upload the records to Social Security. Fine, I'll print the records to PDF....digital to digital. Their protection system won't allow it. So I call back. THIRD call. They have a message playing while I wait on hold, telling me how they are making the experience of obtaining medical records "as pleasant as possible". lol. So I ask....how do I get records that aren't password protected? "You can't". You don't have a download system? "No". Their only solution? After three weeks, I have to wait for them to mail records "in a couple days" (which is exactly what I requested three weeks ago, mailed records). I'll also have to scan them, even though they've clearly already been scanned. So these records have gone from analog to digital, to analog, to digital, AND I've had to interact with Medicopy four times so far. (Very efficient). And I need the records NEXT week. I guess I should have ordered the records two months in advance, instead of one month in advance. This system is not well thought out in any way.
