We were required by the hospital to use ambulatory services to transfer from the hospital to an outpatient facility due to "liability concerns". They did not need to administer medications or monitor vital signs on this transfer. They were strictly the ride from point A to point B. Almost 60 days later I received a bill that was just as much as the 5 day stay in the out patient facility (who did all of the above, plus fed 3 meals a day and snacks). I have called and left messages, with no return calls. Another time I did speak to a person, but the "system was down" and I needed to call back...No offer to take my number and information to call me. After looking closely at the bill, I was charged $77.50 a MILE. The government doesn't even pay that per mile. I am currently appealing the insurance company for payment, but still, being sent letters regarding collections if I don't send this $4k balance in. I left them a message stating that I was appealing the decision, but still no call back, just keeps sending demands. They are lucky they have the hospitals, because I can't imagine anyone willingly wanting to deal with this company. If they show up again, I will refuse their services. All the bad reviews and they don't even attempt to defend themselves. Says a lot about a company. Greedy and uncaring.
