I trained as a CASA in the summer of 2018 and was sworn in that August. It s been an amazing experience! Some parts of the job are emotionally difficult but you get to make sure that the kids feel listened to. Also you meet amazing people who are dedicated to bettering the community. (This includes CPS staff, attorneys, foster parents and family of the kiddos.) The CASA staff are all so friendly! They make themselves available to their volunteers and do everything they can to help. If you re considering volunteering, just do it already!
