We looked at a puppy online and initially thought he might be too small and expressed our reservations, but told them if the puppy was still available when we got back to town we would meet him and decide. We went to the CASPCA and met a different puppy the next week and told them we wanted to still meet the original one. We went to meet the original one and the told the foster we would think about it, but my wife wanted him. The foster told us to contact the CASPCA if we wanted to adopt. so an hour later we called and paid the adoption fee, got the papers to sign when we pick him up and got the microchip put in our name. The next day when we contacted the CASPCA to pick him up they said that they had promised to someone else after we had adopted him. Talked to the director, Sam, who said she was going to refund our money and undue the adoption because of our initial impression that he was too small. She said it does not matter if we called and adopted him, it doesn't matter if we met him, it doesn't matter if we paid for him, it doesn't matter if the microchip is in our name......she was undoing the adoption because we were upset they gave our dog away after we adopted him.....This ASPCA is not affiliated with the National ASPCA, DO NOT SUPPORT them, do not adopt here or they will tear your heart out and tell you not to be upset. UPDATE: 4 hours later, after all the crying and heartbreak we were called and told that we could come pick our dog up after all.....still one star review for the way in which things are run here.
