When i was admitted the nurses were amazing, after i was discharged and called about a follow-up to have staples removed, the nurse on the line gave me such attitude when i said i had no way to travel the hour there to have my staples removed, and sarcastically said "how you going to get them out then? They just dont come out on their own", when all i was trying to do was try to figure out if there were other options on getting down there, or if i could go somewhere a lot closer to my home..
Today, i called asking if there was a fax number so i can have paperwork filled out for my leave of absence for work, so i dont lose my job, for the day i was in the hospital, as it needs filled out by a doctor, got told they can not do so, and i need to go to my actual doctor. When i explained i had no way to see my doctor in time, and the walk in clinic who removed the staples could not do it, they gave me the run around, then finally told me to call the trauma center Monday to see if they will.
Very unprofessional over the phone..
Thanks UPMC, you tell me im not allowed to return to work til staples are removed, so im out of work for 2weeks,and when i try and figure out paperwork to return to work, i get nothing but attitudes and run arounds.. Very professional..
End note. Hospital stay = staff was amazing.
Follow up phone calls = nurse very unprofessional.
