WorldSkills UK is a non-profit organization that aims to raise the standards of apprenticeships and technical education in the United Kingdom. The organization was established with the goal of providing young people with the best possible start in work and life by equipping them with the skills they need to succeed.
At WorldSkills UK, we believe that every young person should have access to high-quality training and education that prepares them for a successful career. We work closely with employers, educators, and government agencies to develop innovative programs that help young people acquire the skills they need to thrive in today's rapidly changing job market.
Our mission is simple: To inspire excellence in apprenticeships and technical education. We achieve this by promoting best practices, providing training opportunities, and recognizing outstanding achievements through our various competitions.
One of our flagship programs is WorldSkills UK LIVE - an annual event that brings together thousands of young people from across the country to showcase their skills in a range of disciplines including engineering, construction, hospitality, digital technology, creative arts, and more. This event provides an excellent opportunity for young people to learn about different career paths while also gaining valuable experience competing against their peers.
In addition to our competitions program, we also offer a range of training courses designed specifically for apprenticeship providers. These courses cover topics such as assessment methodology, quality assurance processes, curriculum design principles as well as other essential aspects related to delivering high-quality apprenticeship programs.
At WorldSkills UK we are committed not only to raising standards but also ensuring inclusivity within our programs. We recognize diversity as one of our core values; therefore we strive towards creating equal opportunities for all individuals regardless of their background or circumstances.
Our efforts have been recognized both nationally and internationally; In 2019 alone we were awarded "Best Training Provider" at The Times Educational Supplement (TES) FE Awards ceremony while also being named as the official UK representative for WorldSkills International.
