Nice selection of beer and cider, not too pricey given it's location near to the heath, only slight shame was that the manager was quite aggressive in his implementation of the covid restrictions and while I am all for them, at the same time it doesn't hurt to be pleasant (although I get the feeling we had already disappointed him by turning up with a bicycle!)

Rude staff, disorganised and waste of time. Avoid.
I wanted to order food to take away. I asked the waitress if the kitchen was opened and she said yes. Waited again until another waiter came to meet me and I explained to him I wanted to order take away food. He sent me to another entrance and asked me to find a stool and sit down and wait to be served. I explained I didn't want to sit down but to take away. He said that was the only way to do it. So I went around the corner and another waiter came to me saying the same thing about sitting down. Once more I explained I just wanted take away and then he said the kitchen was closed! I explained what had happened that I had been waiting all that time but he didn't care. Totally frustrating experience. I used to go to this pub before with friends, never again.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here with our two children - aged 2 & 5. The waitresses could not have been more welcoming, attentive and friendly. They were especially good with our children and made sure the food arrived quickly. The lunch was delicious (we both had roast beef). Very good children s menu too with delicious looking fish and chips. We were so impressed and will definitely be back. There s also lots of room so they can accommodate the social distancing really well and it s very conveniently located to the Heath and playground.

One of the best if not the best pub in Hampstead. Great location, super food, well chosen and varied menu, food prices vary from reasonable to expensive, excellent wine choice, freindly and helpful staff, great service, outdoor seating and nearby parking. Well worth a visit. Slightly more upmarket than your usual pub. We visit regularly. Highly recommend.

Oh my.
Now this is what proper gastropub food ought to be like.
Incredible taste bud explosion!
When we last went with friends, we had the following delights:
- cherry tomato soup with roasted garlic and crumbled feta, and rosemary bread
- mushroom risotto filled peppers, with a pepper puree on a bed of wilted spinach
- cornfed chicken stuffed with mushrooms
- trio of fruit sorbets
- strawberry and cream pavlova
- passionfruit and mango pavlova
- cheese board
Good portions, prices fair, excellent ales and lagers.
Atmosphere is very Hampstead and you can people watch from the little seating area outside.
Service is always attentive, when by more senior staff.
After you have stuffed yourselves, head to the Heath, just across East Heath Road and take a restorative walk.

For the tourist in London, Hampstead is well worth a visit and nothing is more charming than the short stroll from the Flask to the Wells, both historic pubs and remnants of Hampstead 18th century career as a middle-class spa town.

The Wells is a great, traditional English pub, with excellent food. I had English Sole and a chocolate pot -- outstanding! And, of course, ale.

GrastroPUB modern Giogiano style interior in Hampstead. TOP hamburger! Also said by an illustrious person like Obama. Spoon desserts and not really delicious. Good service and fair prices for the area. Raw materials used in the composition of truly superb dishes.

Nice location and atmosphere.

The food is quite good but i wouldn t recommend to go for the burger. The meat and bread is not at the expectation for what you pay for it.

Dog food available on the menu ?!?

After a relatively decent Sunday roast we came to pay and were told that they didn't accept cash. At no time during the booking process, seating, serving or giving us the bill was it ever mentioned that they had a card only policy. Very embarrassing! And to add insult to injury a service charge was automatically added despite this oversight. I won't be returning and I wouldn't recommend.

Perfectly located close to the Health, the pub offers a great spread of roasts but also other items. We had the cocktail of the day which was delicious. They also are super dog friendly and offer Ella's Kitchen on the menu, which our puppy wolfed down after her big walk. Highly recommend!!!

Probably the best gastropub in the Hamsptead / Highgate area.

There's nothing I don't like about it. Their wine list include little treasures like Solano from Ourense, their food would reach the final of masterchef without a problem and they even make a nice dirty vodka martini (they have grey goose)

Also, great for dogs and kids.

Extremely rude host. I was trying to find friends inside and due to covid restrictions the entrance is taped off. When I gave the name of party to the host he snapped how should i know who that is? and walked off. He was just as rude to my wife who also tried to ask if we can just look for them inside. Maybe have more pleasant people be the front face of your pub?
