Waterstep: Providing Simple Solutions to Complex Water Problems
Water is one of the most essential resources for life on earth. However, despite its importance, millions of people around the world still lack access to safe and clean water. This is where Waterstep comes in - a non-profit organization that aims to provide simple solutions to complex water problems.
At Waterstep, we believe that the best solutions to water problems are rooted in simple tools and effective training. Our mission is to empower communities with the knowledge and resources they need to improve their access to safe and clean water.
Founded in 1995 by Mark Hogg, Waterstep has been working tirelessly for over two decades now towards its goal of providing sustainable solutions for global water issues. Over the years, we have developed a range of innovative technologies and programs that have helped us make a significant impact on communities around the world.
One of our flagship programs is our Safe Water System (SWS), which provides an affordable and effective way for communities to treat their own drinking water. The SWS uses chlorine generators that can produce enough chlorine solution for up to 10,000 gallons of safe drinking water per day. This system has been implemented in over 50 countries worldwide, providing access to clean drinking water for millions of people.
Another program that we are proud of is our Disaster Response Program (DRP). When natural disasters strike, one of the most pressing needs is often access to safe drinking water. Our DRP provides emergency response teams with portable equipment such as chlorinators and filtration systems that can quickly provide clean drinking water in disaster-stricken areas.
In addition to these programs, we also offer training courses on topics such as community development, health education, and disaster response preparedness. These courses are designed not only for individuals but also organizations looking for ways they can contribute towards solving global issues related to clean drinking water.
At Waterstep, we understand that solving global issues related to clean drinking requires collaboration between different stakeholders - governments, NGOs like ours as well as private sector companies who share our vision.
