Vfg: Empowering People with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses

Vfg is a non-profit organization that aims to empower people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, as well as their networks. The organization, which stands for "Vereniging voor personen met een handicap of chronische ziekte en hun netwerk," provides information, raises awareness, and advocates for a participatory policy.

At Vfg, we believe that everyone deserves equal opportunities to live fulfilling lives regardless of their physical or mental condition. We strive to create an inclusive society where people with disabilities can participate fully in all aspects of life.

Our Services

Information and Sensitization

One of our primary goals at Vfg is to provide accurate information about disabilities and chronic illnesses. We understand that many people lack knowledge about these conditions, which can lead to misconceptions and discrimination. Therefore, we offer various resources such as brochures, workshops, seminars, and online content to educate the public on disability-related issues.

Advocacy

De Voorleesbende: This project involves volunteers reading books aloud via video calls so children who cannot read due to visual impairments get access too.

Garsons Uniek: This project offers training programs aimed at equipping young adults living with intellectual challenges skills needed when seeking employment.

Filoe: A platform designed specifically for parents raising children diagnosed autism spectrum disorder (ASD) providing them support groups.

Inktvis: An online platform offering creative writing courses tailored towards young adults diagnosed ASD

Speak up!: A program aimed at empowering young adults diagnosed ASD by teaching them communication skills.
