Food not at all to my liking. Had a stuffed mushroom dish served to me burnt. I sent it back after trying it and it was returned to me with the addition of an additional burnt one. I gave up and ordered a cannoli which was just a shell stuffed with cheese. I did not think that could be ruined but no effort was put into it and it just was not good. I will not go back. Although the wait staff is pleasant they lose out due to food quality.

I am not sure how to rate this. I am going to give four stars. I went in for my first time today. There was hardly anyone in there i could only see one table with people. I wanted take out. I stood and waited for quite some time until someone from the kitchen came to see if I had been helped. After he hollerd across the restaurant and a few more minutes i was able to place my order. I am just in awweee how yummy the food is btw... Why I am giving four stars. After my food was done the same guy from the kitchen comes out, plops my box on the counter and screams for the girl who took my order. After realizing that she wasn't coming soon he asks if I need silverware and puts my order in a bag. .. . So to conclude.. great food awful service.

From the minute we walked in we knew we would love it. Pam was our waitress and she was kind, fun and efficient. The owner came out to help us with my friends dietary needs. So accommodating! The food was delicious and plentiful! Enough for another meal or two!! Great atmosphere. We will definitely be going back!!

I've ate from here a couple times, once dine in and the other take out. Their panini's are incredible but there pasta could do a little better. If I remember correctly the pasta I had was rather plain, but then again maybe it was just a one time thing. The scenery is real nice though, I'll them that.

Everything was absolutely fantastic! From the wine to the desert, it was all perfect! The bread is amazing & everything is fresh & home made. I wish it was warmer to sit outside & enjoy the pretty fall decorations! Will be a regular & highly, highly recommend this restaurant. The staff is friendly & offers great recommendations! Good job!

This place should get 10 stars! The food was AMAZING! The pizza crust is not too thin, not too thick, and just the right flavor and texture; crisp and chewy. Get the Fall Bruschetta, it was so delicious! And I can't say enough about the service. The entire staff was attentive and made us feel like family. I can't wait to go back!

Quite disappointed, heard good things about this place and when I read the reviews, I was convinced this was going to be great. My eggplant parmigiana was burnt, they hid the burnt pieces of eggplant in between other slices. The slices of eggplant were so thin my girlfriend thought it was just fried breadcrumbs. Very expensive for what you got.

We recently hired Taso and his team to cater an off-site event. The entire experience was phenomenal - from selecting the menu to the presentation - it exceeded our expectations! Everything we've ever eaten at Vero has been tremendous and we are thrilled they cater too!

I cannot express how amazing this place is. Truly a hidden gem. The service was great, and our server was so friendly and he gave out gifts (teddy bears, toy trucks, etc) in a basket to the kids. Now, the food. Oh my gosh, so DELICIOUS. The pizza was phenomenal, and the thin crust was great. The portions were absolutely huge and worth each and every penny. We got 2 pizzas and a side of pasta with sauce. The sauce was fantastic! And the side salad was probably the biggest side I have ever seen! All in all this place is an A+! Definitely recommend.

Delicious food! This was my first visit and I was very impressed. The restaurant is so cute and the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. I ordered a pizza and it was just as good as New Haven pizza. My server, Susan, was tremendously helpful and very prompt with every request. I haven t had great service from a restaurant in quite some time. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

We were recently married in a private ceremony and wanted to have a local gathering for friends and family. We had heard great things about Vero Cucino Rustico so we stopped in a few months prior to inquire about having an event there. The staff immediately put us at ease with their welcoming approach and genuine interest in our celebration. After going over the details and seeing the private room we would be able to use, including a full bar and plenty of space, our choice was easily made and we had great confidence knowing our party was in great hands. Before we left after enjoying a wonderful meal with very attentive service, the owner, Taso, took time to speak with us regarding our event and put our minds at ease with his caring, empathetic, and very professional approach. And to top it all off, the owner handed us a delicious loaf of freshly baked bread as we were leaving!
On the day of our event, we arrived a few hours early to set up and were given free reign to decorate and re-arrange anything to our liking. The staff and owner immediately welcomed us and assisted us with any questions we had while also providing a very positive atmosphere. The owner even went out of his way to provide an external speaker so we could play a special playlist we created for the day. As guests began to arrive, the staff was fully prepared with an array of delicious food, ranging from appealing appetizers to various types of pizza. In addition, the bartenders/waitresses Sue and Amaya could not have been more attentive or pleasant when serving drinks, or helping our guests with any requests that arose. Knowing everything handled by the staff was working like clockwork (with a personal touch) allowed our guests and us to immerse ourselves in celebrating our love and devotion to one another, which was our biggest hope for the day and we can truly say was fully achieved. All of our friends and family raved about the food and service, with many taking leftovers home to enjoy.
We could not have been happier with our experience at Vero Cucino Rustico and wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to host a private event where they will receive phenomenal cuisine topped with highly accommodating service, or to anyone looking for a first-class pizza pie!

Have eaten here many times and the portions get bigger, the prices stay the same! Also held family parties here and the catering is top notch. Highly recommended the chicken parmesean over pasta, the shrimp scampi, stuffed filet of sole or any pizza. Wonderful refreshing ambiance and decor inside and the owner and staff are inviting and friendly. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent dining experience. Don't miss out. Check out the food truck off Bow Lane too for weekday lunchs specials!

About Vero Cucina

Vero Cucino opened with the goal of being a pizzeria that serves authentic Napolitana pizza, while also using fresh ingredients and the art of pizza making to Middletown, CT.

Vero Cucina: Serving Authentic Napolitana Pizza in Middletown, CT

Vero Cucina is a pizzeria that opened its doors with the goal of bringing authentic Napolitana pizza to Middletown, CT. The restaurant prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients and traditional pizza-making techniques to create delicious and authentic pizzas.

The restaurant's name, Vero Cucina, translates to "true kitchen" in Italian. This name reflects the restaurant's commitment to using only the best ingredients and traditional cooking methods to create their pizzas.

One of the things that sets Vero Cucina apart from other pizzerias is their use of a wood-fired oven. This type of oven is essential for creating authentic Napolitana pizza because it cooks at a high temperature (around 900 degrees Fahrenheit) and creates a crispy crust while keeping the toppings moist.

In addition to their wood-fired oven, Vero Cucina also uses San Marzano tomatoes imported from Italy for their sauce. These tomatoes are known for their sweet flavor and low acidity, making them perfect for pizza sauce.

The restaurant offers a variety of pizzas on its menu, including classic Margherita (tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, basil), Diavola (tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, spicy salami), and Quattro Formaggi (four cheeses). They also offer specialty pizzas like Prosciutto e Funghi (prosciutto di Parma ham with mushrooms) and Capricciosa (artichokes hearts with black olives).

Aside from pizzas they also serve salads such as Caesar salad or Insalata di Rucola which has arugula leaves topped with shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese dressed in lemon vinaigrette dressing.

For those who prefer something other than pizza or salad there are pasta dishes available such as Spaghetti alla Carbonara which has spaghetti pasta tossed in egg yolk-based cream sauce with pancetta bacon bits topped off with grated Pecorino Romano cheese.

To complement your meal they have an extensive wine list featuring wines from Italy as well as local vineyards around Connecticut. They also have craft beers available on tap or by bottle/can selection if you prefer beer over wine.

Overall Vero Cucina offers an excellent dining experience that combines traditional Italian cuisine with modern flair. Whether you're looking for an authentic Napolitana pizza or something else entirely like pasta dishes or salads this place will not disappoint!
