was looking for some info online for the mobile game design but theres no info given about the program online, i had to leave my contact info to have them call me just to ask for a program outline. the staff that talked to me was very aggressive and pushy, the conversation i had with that person was hardly pleasant and he said "you dont seem to be wanting to invest in this" when i said i needed time to consider. I was forced to make a followup phone interview when i just wanted to know what the program can offer. after finding the programs do not offer what i want the staff insisted to keep the phone interview. overall the experience made me feel like they are tied selling.

I am currently studying at VCAD in the Interior Design program. I have come across the best tutors who are down to earth and kind , have patience to come down to different understanding levels and have a vast industry experience. The student services specially Pansy is one of the most helpful person out there who goes above and beyond to work out the best schedule as per ones requirement working it around the obvious constraints of tutor availability. Most of all Cori Sun is my to go person and she will sort our any issue or any worries and make it all go away!! I am loving the in depth course content and feel by the time I am out, I will be truly equipped with all the right skillsets. Thank you VCAD!

I graduated from VCAD last Sept 2020 and I learned so much about the practical skills needed in interior design. The staff are also very helpful and they are able to help you through your journey!

I had a tour of the facilities and both the Campus Director and the director of Admissions were very professional and warm. The campus its beautiful and right downtown which is great for public commuters!

It was a great experience generally speaking. Our instructors were typically people with industry knowledge and field experience. I personally learnt a lot.

I highly recommend attending this school. I had such a great experience and the staff is excellent!!

I am a VCAD alumnus, graduated April 2017. I worked in the field before moving to Canada, and I struggle a lot to find jobs in my field (graphic design/photography) here. That fact was the decision point that motivated me to join VCAD. Long story short: a month after my graduation I got hired and my career is progressing very quickly. The career service is fantastic and Deborah helped me revise my resume, and helped me find my first job as a designer in Canada.

As per VCAD classes, even with my previous knowledge, I ended up learning a lot. The instructors are fantastic and know what they are saying. Trevor, the head of design is a fantastic professional with so much knowledge in Design history and conceptualization that he would give 4 hour lectures without even checking his notes. If I could go back in time I would have done the same. I strongly recommend the Design course at VCAD.

Hate being the one to leave a negative review but I have had enough. Along with what others have shared I need to strongly agree that the staff is very pushy, not only that but they also have absolutely no understanding and no boundaries. Being a few terms in I have to call it quits. I feel the art teachers are very uneducated, if you get put into a class be prepared to spend 6hrs on an assignment and barely get a pass. I feel the teachers (art ones specifically) are grading only based on looks. So if you aren t a perfect drawer expect to get a very low grade in the class. My over all experience has not been good with this place. So In conclusion if you re looking for an expensive rip off that you can easily get into, you have found the place!

I filled out a online inquiry form but it mentioned I applied. When i spoke with one of the reps he kept saying how students loan work and wouldn't talk about the program in detail. I was looking to do a couple courses not a program. Waste of time, very sleazy. From my initial contact, i would never recommend this school to anyone.

I am still thinking about VCAD after the Shape Workshop event from last week. When I first went to VCAD with my family, I knew that the people were very nice and detailed about what the work load would be like and what kind of software you would be able to use for their programs. Their wide range of visual programs is excellent and go into excellent detail on how to use the software and what your projects should look like. The supervisors and teachers there are so helpful and enthusiastic, which is the cherry on top.

Budget school!!
Save your money and if you are currently there...jump ship and go to a real school. The over glorified teachers in Fashion are a joke. Jason Matlo is the worst teacher I ever had! Ego for days!!!! Good luck VCAD!! Expect a lawsuit!

I had a great time at VCAD! I met many good friends, had great experiences, the teachers were very knowledgeable, and I learned a lot. With my education from VCAD, I am now a senior designer/marketing coordinator at my company and I couldn't be happier!

Nice professors, staffs and tutors but this school runs by a money monster.
They need to hire more staffs

My time at VCAD was insightful because the school itself is small so you get you see the things you typically overlook is most school. I m really grateful and thankful for the one on one Career Advice I got from Deborah as well as Sarah from student services. They were both patient with me and desired nothing more than to see me advance in my career prior and post graduation.

The four stars go to the attitudes of the teachers and staff who are knowledgeable, well-roundedly experienced, coming to work with intention and willing to help with the academic and administrative questions when asked. Their effort should not be dismissed lightly and the synergy is the greatest when you as a student are determined to leverage every moment of your experience here.

There seems to be far greater challenges with the operation model and that should be prioritized before mass marketing. It is only my hope that the school would allocate more resources on quality scaffolding: not just the physical infrastructure and resources (e.g., computers, printers, room cleanliness, etc), but on program quality taught by instructors especially when they are held solely accountable for particular subject matters. These are systemic issues across the entire educational sectors that shouldn't impact student at the breathable level.

I am personally aware of individual efforts that try to gradually improve on this, and do appreciate the willingness of the full-time faculty and staff to be available as much as they can be.

Overall, I think the most important thing of private vocational prep school in bc are basically unworthy of spending your budgets with. Especially with the large amount of students loans. I have been attended vcad from 2009 and among all the creepy classmates with attitude problems and they are thinking could do telepathy. Geez that's crazy, with that being said I immediately signing off.

Just to be clear, I would give 2.5 stars out of 5 but it won't allow me to do so. Since my experince at VCAD was very much 50% great and 50% frustrating.
Coming from another province and moving everything I own to attend this college was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make considering my 2 kids, family and life had to be left behind for close to 2 years. So right off the bat I was nervous to come down but the student "recruiter" that I spoke to for weeks before attending, really sold this school to me and the idea of attending. I was extremely excited by the time I had to move. The promise had been made that there would be 2 weeks break in between each term, which was great news for me since it would allow me to visit home as much as I could. On my first day at VCAD they instructed me that the 2 weeks break would not happen and that we would have only have a few days between terms. I also tried, but was never able to actually meet the recruiter who told me about VCAD in the first place. I was absolutely floored, but considering i had just moved everything and found an apartment and had already signed my documents for my student loans, I was basically left with regret and frustration. The only thing to do was to stick with it and hope for the best.
The teachers were overall pretty good, with some really uninterested ones and some that I will probably remember for the rest of my life due to their dedication to the students.
The overall organization of the school felt VERY messy and they were almost figuring things out as they went along which made most of the students experiences very poor.
All that being said, VCAD was a great place to go to get started in the world of 3D and their 3D Modelling and Animation program was very instructive.
The receptionists as well basically had no idea what they were doing and never gave me any valuable information when needed.
During my time at the school, they also never had a render farm up and running and when it came time for all the students to render their demo reels, people were competing for computers and cancelling renders.
Overall my experience at VCAD was mixed with a ton of frustration but was also a great way for me to get started in the industry.

Almost finished my Architectural Design and Technology diploma, the school is great in giving an ample coverage of all the topics one will need in the professional life. A big advantage are the small sized classes that let you have a lot of one on one time with the teachers, which are all professionals working actively. During this year of social distancing, the transition to online was seamless and didn't impact lessons in any way. Happy to have chosen this school!!!

I am studying Graphic Design there currently. I'm about half way through my studies. And I strongly believe that our Design program is top notch, because if Trevor (who is head of Graphic Design). The school has issues that any other school has, but if I had to do everything over again, I'd still pick this school. It has everything that I'm looking for. They are very art based, you learn from doing. I really love the late policy, it has challenged me in so many ways as an artist. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Energy drinks will be your best friend, due to late nights, but the friends you make there, you make for life.

Highly recommended, I love that the length of the program is 1.5years, and they are going to be offering a degree program soon. The school is also changing a lot.

I went to Visual College of Art and Design in 2011 for the fashion design program. In my last two terms there, I had the amazing opportunity to have Jason Matlo teach me. He was the one person I looked up to before I had the chance to meet him. He saw something in me that some of my other great teachers hadn't. In the two terms that I was his student, he taught me everything I needed to learn. If it wasn't for him, I probably would have given up on my dream of becoming a fashion designer. 4 years later, and he has not only become my mentor and friend but he still continues to help me and guide me in the right direction. If you are considering fashion design at VCAD, I would highly recommend having Jason as a teacher. He sees special talent in his students.
I want to thank VCAD also for giving me the opportunity to attend your school. If it wasn't for this school, I wouldn't have met Jason and share my story that I am so proud of.

I am in my 3rd term here at VCAd studying Fashion Design and I was hoping to get involved in the industry prior to graduating to get some actual work experience while studying.
I approached Deborah in career services and she got me hooked up with The Cutting Room and they just hired me, so I am very thankful to Deborah and her support with career services at VCAD.

So originally I accepted a scholarship for a good chunk of a Graphic Design tuition and that was the main reason I went. They put me into that program thinking it was most appropriate from my skill set and goals, but it didn't last long because I moved to Game Design the very next term.

So their Graphic Design program I am very impressed with. Trevor did a fantastic job putting it together and the classes are excellently structured. The GDD/MAAD program however was a complete mess. The majority of teachers I got were not even interested in being there and simply showed a youtube video I could I found on my own about it. If I'm spending hundreds of dollars a class, I would like to learn more than a free video tbh. The teachers that DID put in effort were so extremely exhausted and disappointing by the school's poor curriculum and standards that I felt so bad for them. Shout out to Russ and Rodger for trying so hard all the time!

Like honestly, I learned almost EVERYTHING in Animation with Andy, Level Design w my boiiii JP and Portfolio I with Phil. That's all pretty much all last term meaning the remaining like what, 5 (?) terms were a complete waste and an exercise in futility. Most of us didn't even know how to properly UV unwrap until like second to last term.

Finance was always super helpful but don't get me started on front desk and student services. Mimi who claims to be a mental health expert wasn't even familiar with the notion of Anxiety Disorder or that BPD was a serious illness.

I can't say anymore because with the new leadership I had seen some things change positively, but when I went there, the school really didn't give students enough for a good portfolio. Deborah in Career Services does her best to let you know what's up and I appreciate her efforts but I don't think that's enough when many of the students that leave have subpar knowledge and skills even if they have real talent.

Complete money grab. Go somewhere else tbh guys. This was the biggest waste of 36k.

I'm a current student in VCAD, learning to become a 3D animator. VCAD is one of the best school you can ever attempt if you truely want to participate. VCAD has always been a school that is either everyone like or everyone hate. What people failed to realized is that their way of teaching is not quite similar to the other art schools, but instead, a normal college. Without doubt VCAD has one of the best instructors, all currently working in industry and providing most up to date information. The problem they have is they don't have too much punishment on students who don't work hard, resulting in huge gaps between hardworking student and the one who isn't. A college is a place to learn, not to play. As long as students have interest and passion. For animation, Paul Zeke and Jimmy Tu is all you need to compete in the animation industry, so does the other program.

VCAD Is a great college , perfect staffs , good atmosphere, they really care about students specially Houman Sharifi-Azar who helped me alot, courses are very complete and useful.
I suggest VCAD to any one who wants to continue education in art and design.

I have been a student in Game Design for 3 quarters now. I think what you put in is what you get out. The computers are fine and internet is fine. Our teachers good-- some work in industry and some are good teachers we have a nice balance. I would change a few but for the most I'm very happy. We had 8 new teachers in game this quarter and I'm happy and have heard good things about them.
There has been staff changes but the new staff in student counselling is much more professional then the ones there when I started. They are also a lot friendlier and helpful.
I like all the new events we are doing as well.
If you are looking for a good school VCAD is a good choice for you !

The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Answered any and all questions I had. Got an unscheduled personal tour of facility and really like the student to instructor ratio s. The vibe was great in there and an added bonus is it s close and easy to all types of major transit.

My overall experience with VCAD was great for the most part. The thing I appreciated the most was the huge support I got from teachers and staff when it came to finding a job after I Graduated from Game Design. I would highly recommend this college if your goal is to enter the Game or Animation industry. The majority of my teachers were great and informative!
On the flip side of things I felt that there was alot of unnecessary expenses in some courses and there was a few teachers who had very little knowledge of the content they were supposed to teach and as a result it felt I payed for courses where I learned very little or content i already knew from past teachers. But once I found the right teachers to communicate with, I stuck with them as much as I could as a a result I graduated and got right into the industry. For those teachers and staff who helped me out I thank you very much!

My experience here in VCAD is far more I can think of! I m currently studying here as an Interior designer. And all of the instructors and the staffs here are very supportive and knowledgeable. I never had any background about Interior design, so learning Autocad, 3D max, Drawing and many more, are really challenging for me in the beginning. But the teachers helped a lot, made me feel at ease and gave a lot of helpful techniques that I can use in the future as well.

I became part of the student Ambassador, that made me meet all of the staffs in VCAD. Everyone is amazing!

Robby, the amazing guy who works in the admin at the reception. Has such a wonderful soul! Very fun to talk to! Making me always to look forward to go to school.

Cori Sun, this lovely lady. Helped me a lot!! Whenever I have problems with my courses and homework. Is always there for me! Super easy to talk to :) plus, she s the head of the student Association! I m very inspired by her.

All in all, all the people in VCAD and my classmates are wonderful!

Highly recommend it to everyone out there who wants to upgrade their career

Normally I never leave reviews for anything unless I absolutely have to. I saw an ad on Facebook for some courses in design and I was curious so I signed up for more info. What they do is call you and email you to get in touch. Sounds normal, right? I ended up changing my mind about it because life got hectic so I let them know that I'm no longer interested and to stop receiving communications from them. For a week and a half including today they have called me a minimum of 3 times a day, most calls I've missed due to being busy, but everytime I get a chance to pick up or call them back I tell them to stop calling but they don't. I just got a call 15 minutes ago. This raises red flags because it shows that they are more interested in your money than to actually teach you something. They will not stop calling and hounding you until they can get a penny from you. Sorry I absolutely hate leaving poor reviews but this has come to an absolute breaking point. I'm a nice person but enough is enough. STAY AWAY AND DON'T SIGN UP FOR THE FB INQUIRY TO LEARN MORE OR YOU'LL BE SORRY.

One of the things that makes VCAD special is their Career Service. They will support you to find an approprate job . After graduating I worked freelance for about 1 month and during that time they allowed me to work with the college computers ( I have to mention here, VCAD has great computer labs). After 1 month I found a junior interior designer job and it would not happen without Deborah's help and supports. And let me add this that they will never stop supporting you.

She helped me from day one stay on track, and now I am working for an international company doing something I love!
No matter how your time goes at VCAD, Deb will be the shining jewel at the end of the road to get you to your dreams. It has been almost a year since my graduation and she is STILL helping me... If you get the chance - befriend this lady, she will be the best tool in your tool belt! (plus great company along the way.)

On the 3D animation and modelling program.
I was charged 1200.00 for a "E-resource fee" only for teachers to not use the provided text books, in some cases they didn't even know about the "online" text books. I only learned about some of these resources 6 months after graduating.
No coherent curriculum. The school depends on its student tutors to carry the weight. Teachers will leave out topics thinking other teachers will cover them, but they don't.
You'll be made to waste your time with art fundamentals that will provide little to no help with 3D animation or 3D modelling.
The school dramatically misrepresents employment opportunities for its graduates.
I went to this school, but most of what I learned was from youtube.

If you like instructors that are extremely rude, disrespectful and constantly tell you that you re stupid if they do not like your design, then try out the interior design program here. I went into the program with a passion for design and left wanting nothing to do with it because of the way the instructors treated you. Complete waste of 30k. Amazed there isn t more law suits against this place.

As a parent All I want for my daughter is her to be happy during the college time at work and in life in general (the best time of my life was during the college many years ago) my daughter s love for art and graphics and photography is limitless and that s why she had to move to Vancouver for her studies,after meetings over the phone and in person with their admissions department Mr Houman S Azar (who was very professional and polite )she enrolled at VCAD and got accepted and now she is in her 2 term and she is LOVING it!! Very professional and knowledgeable instructors and staff !!! Looking forward for her graduation

Great school as they offer both technical and design skills. The program is quite fast so there was always a lot of pressure, regardless, the instructors and career services always provided genuine support every step of the way if you put in the work. Deborah in career services was sure to always keep alumni posted on new opportunities, and was always willing to be a reference for potential jobs.

I'm part of the schools first online-only schooling experience. Needless to say, it's been a really tough time. We were promised certain laptops for school work - got a totally different model that offers less than half of the capabilities of what was promised. They didn't hire enough teachers, so while I'm currently in my second term - there are still teachers being hired and classes being switched etc... Student Services is only a small group of people - and isn't able to respond and help in an efficient enough way. The teachers are nice and doing their best to be understanding - but the school that hired them is barely organized at best. I'd love to stay and continue my education - but it's becoming more and more difficult to even do my work because I can't even log in to the schools app streaming service! As students we were promised a streamlined, smooth experience. Now it's just nothing but problem after problem and it always boils down to technical issues with IT and being told constantly to "Contact Student Services". :(

College is what you make it. Don't expect to be spoon fed baby food here. Put your boots on(grab a pencil) and get to work. pay attention and take notes. there is no guarantee of anything unless you put in your 100%
I Graduated from the animation/modeling program and became successful in the industry.

If you put your heart and soul into what you do, VCAD will be a great fit. Trevor was my mentor throughout the Graphic Design program, and he played the biggest role in my design career becoming what it is today. Aside from learning the technical and conceptual aspect, he helped me realize my own potential. He'll go down as the most impactful instructor I've ever had, and at the end of the day, VCAD made that connection happen.

The staff was extremely pushy when I was looking for more information on the program which made the overall experience very unpleasant. I liked what I saw in the program and went down to visit and apply to see if I would be accepted. When I told them my decision to take a step back to look at all my options before completing the process, they immediately called me to follow up (that's totally fine, I understand that they want to be sure I got all the information I need). It went from a simple phone call to someone aggressively trying to sell the school to me and pointing out my decision to wait as a problem with my ability to commit. Is it really too much to ask for a bit more time before dropping 28K? It just felt very off that they would decide to judge my character based on a single meeting and a phone call.

A good school, albeit a bit disorganized, especially around graduation time. But the teachers made up for it with their real-life experience and advice. After grad, Deborah from career services really put forward an effort to help me find a job. She s been a great academic reference for me at both places I ve worked. Overall, the Graphic Design program was a good experience and I d recommend it to others.

VCAD have passionate teachers but also they have a lot of teachers who do not care about the students nor being in this school or teaching. I learned some things but also wasted a lot of time in class. Overall, I don't think it's worth the +30k that I paid.

Recently attended the Summer 2018 Graduate Exhibition and was remarkably impressed with both the programs and the graduates. The leadership and administration team is clearly one of the best I've seen and is intently focused on quality of experience and student outcomes. This focus is consistent with each and every student I spoke with (20+) on the evening.
The graduates are creative and prepared for market, and most importantly have learned that the results they have achieved is directly linked to the commitment and effort they have given to the program.

The campus director and the admissions vice president is a joke. I wanted to withdraw from my program and they swallowed my money and wouldn't even help me. I'm surprised this 'school' has not shut down. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE.

I never thought that I would love college this much! I have a diploma in fine arts, have been in university for 4 years and never got better experience then in VCAD! Faculties are really helpful and the location of the college is perfect!

As an alumnus, Deborah Gillam-Harry, VCAD Employment Specialist helped me out a lot regarding my career search even before graduation. You could actually feel that you are being supported all throughout the process of landing a job that is specific for your chosen field and she actually cares and treats you like family. She constantly updates with employers/studios and sends out your Demo for it to be seen. Believe me guys, a referral from Deborah would solidify your chances to land a position in a company! I have never been in a college that has this kind of support and an employee who actually loves their job and genuinely help the students on their chosen path to be successful. You could never go wrong with Deborah Gillam-Harry as you're Employment Specialist! Thank you, Deborah!

This is the worst school I've ever experienced in my life. This school doesn't care about the qualities of classes and teachers, they just care about how much money they can earn from you. Recently this school has posted a lot of advertisements on the internet, but please be careful and doubt about it. I recommend talking with actual students of this school and get some real information from them before you consider. And please remember to read all of the texts of your contract and other papers very carefully before you sign, they might plunged you into a difficult situation after the entrance. If you really wanna get a better career, this simply is not a great choice for you.

I m in the fashion design....love love love it...wen-che and Jeff Ellis is my fav instructors. They re great... student coordinator Aliza...so approachable ...Mike M... sweet great guy! Greet everybody... make me feel home in this school! VCAD ! Highly recommended!

All I did was apply to the place and 10 minutes later I get a call from the administration office saying that they are very happy with me choosing them for Interior Design. It was just plain creepy, and my cousin warned me about the place after she found out I applied.

I took the Fashion Design program at VCAD and loved it. It was really nice to work so closely with instructors who had real experience in the industry. They had connections with designers and companies all over the place and introduced us to people that would help us once we'd graduated. I got regular feedback about my collection and how I could make it better. I can't say enough good things about what I learned here.

Very unprofessional administrative staff, even less impressive faculty. Program was poorly planned and overall gave the impression of a money grab.

I agree with comments that caution potential student to inquire further than the ads and recruiter's scripts. The school DOES NOT quality for a POST-GRADUATE WORK PERMIT. I found this out after finishing my program and being told by Immigration not the school despite endless assurances I would be. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WORK IN CANADA.

Otherwise, I feel the program is fairly sufficient for students looking for hands-on projects and an accelerated learning program. I did Interior Design. It will be hard to get work after attending VCAD. Firms aren't familiar with the program or professors. It took my own networking and an Engineering/Project Manager background to get a "foot in the door".

Other, likely better options: Langara College, BCIT (YOU WILL QUALIFY FOR THE POST-GRAD WK PERMIT)

I've been thinking about attending here for a couple years now. i am currently in grade 12 and am intrested in the interior design program. If anyone can share their experiences or the opinion on this program please!

A year and a half of hard work and dedication has brought me to the door of my dreams. With the help of many amazing instructors and the support and backing of the wonderful Career council Services I can now say I work in the Film and Television Industry. There were many moments when I lost faith in myself and wanted to give up, but they never allowed me to give in, and instead they doubled down to help me move forward. It was worth all the sweat, blood and tears. Thank you

VCAD is a fantastic post-secondary institution for those who are interested in FASHION DESIGN. The instructors are top notch, and truly care about a student's success. The school could use a serious facelift, and better admin services. There is a lack of professionalism among admin, but overall the instructors make attending VCAD worthwhile. ADD 1/2 a star.

When I first started, I was really nervous because I hadn t ever really had the urge to work within the film industry itself but rather consume film on screen. To deal with this, I had Student Services who are more than willing to sit down and talk about my current workload/future/overall struggles associated to the program or a particular course within it. At this point, I was provided some inspiration (I know, a generic phrase) by observing the work of others.

As for the teachers, every one has their own personal teaching style and even though their teaching style might might vary term to term, it provides a more diverse environment of ideas leaving room for improvement for not only themselves but the students as well.

Since the beginning of 2019, I tried my best as a member of the student association along with my fellow members to provide a positive experience during our events on a monthly and bi weekly basis for the students attending. These events are all themed based on the nearest holiday with a few exceptions of course. During these events, we try our best to keep a positive environment by having direct conversations with students and receive feedback for future events; I also bake fresh cookies from time to time .

They all have the chance to put forth ideas and criticisms through our town halls every term; great way to get help improve the schools services (ie. PC/Mac Programs, Amenities, etc).

Taking feedback is necessary and it s something I try to take in as much as possible while on campus.

If you are an international student who is considering attending a 3D Animation program there, stay away. There is a couple reasons: 1) upon graduating, you don't receive a post-graduation work permit (they might never mention that little yet extremely important detail, unless you ask). 2) Curriculum was very poorly organized. They cancelled summer break once because we had 3 weeks of winter break instead of 2 (again, due to their incompetence!)
3) They make you pay a couple thousands dollars if you decide to leave the school.
Having said that, some teachers were very nice; not sure if any of them still teach there though.
Save your nerves, time and money and consider other animation schools in town (Capilano, Think Tank or BCIT).

I walked through the school the other day and was very impressed with the information that I was given. Staff and very friendly and were able to answer my questions. The building has an artsy feeler it. I look forward to studying here in the future.

I took the Marketing and Merchandising program 2 years ago and I'm going to be honest on this review. The Instructors through out the program were great, while others not so much. I found the school to be very unorganized. Had a very difficult time trying to find an internship which is part of the program, never exactly got the help i needed from my instructor. I couldn't find work in this field for 3 months which was extremely discouraging. Meanwhile I decided to head up north for work as a medic just so I had income rolling in.

Now residing in Kelowna, I thought I could find work locally here in this field and still nothing! If you're thinking of a career in this industry, I would highly recommend doing some more research in the field itself and other schools. Colleges/universities are suppose to help their students gain employment afterwards, that being said because I chose to move back to the island is where I experienced the lack of employment in this field. I was told because I moved to a "geographically distant location, didn't help". So you expect all of your graduates to stay put in Vancouver? and just not be successful at all regardless of where they chose to live? (shake my head) Through-out the program I was told repeatedly (because half way through I wanted to drop out) how you can utilize your diploma in a wide range of opportunities and my case not so much. It's very discouraging to find out afterwards the lack of employment there really is. Even after being told this program isn't just for fashion as you learn a lot about marketing, social media platforms, business management etc.

So based on my experience I would highly recommend doing some research, because spending $30,000 on this program was a mistake in my opinion. I had more luck in my hair-styling program afterwards which was half the price of this program. The school to me is just a money grab.

Game Design and Development student:

The school is fantastic, the teachers here have worked in the industry for years and are here to pass on their knowledge and experience. I see a lot of people writing reviews about not getting work immediately, but the school does their best to provide you the resources to move on after graduating, its your responsibility to excel in your field and be the best so you get the job you want.
I've learnt a lot being here and like anything there has been ups and downs to the experience but overall I've enjoyed being here and would recommend it to anyone else that wants to work hard and is willing to put in the effort to be the best

This place is amazing! I learned so much from being there. Very supportive teachers and staff. Deborah is very knowledgeable and has helped me tremendously.

VCAD is AWESOME! As a student at VCAD, with a learning disability, the staff are there to make sure that you get what you need. Student Services, Tutors, Instructors, Fellow students, are so wonderful. Some of your fellow classmates, from any of the courses, may become lifelong friends and family. Everyone there, has truly enhanced my life. The Student Services are an amazing group of people. They have helped me way beyond anything that I could have asked for. Each person at VCAD, brings their own self and we are in it together. If you put all of your efforts forward, and you REALLY try to do your best, you will be rewarded, and supported 100%. Some of the courses are harder than others, but the tutors, put all of their efforts in too, to help you succeed in your future as an artist...

I'm currently a student in VCAD. Not only that the instructors are really good at teaching, they're also very friendly to their students and this is base on my experience in VCAD.

They inspire us by showing their amazing skills and prepare us to meet the requirments for graduation. They will sit with students who are struggling to do the assignments.

My skills as an artist got way better than what I had before.
As a gamer, I'm looking forward to learning more about gaming in VCAD.

Deborah from VCAD's Career Counseling Services provides wonderful assistance to all upcoming gradutes and alumni in helping set them up for success.

She does a fantastic job in creating a personal rapport with each student and does an excellent job identifying and supporting each individual with their specific career goals.

If you are in need of any assistance with finding career opportunities after graduating, or still currently studying in your major, Deborah's doors are always open and she is willing to help out in any capacity, constantly updating you with new job opportunities, helping you send out your portfolio to the right employers, and giving any valuable advice and information about the industry.

Please start to make worth it all the money that we spent in this school.
Lots of struggles just to attend an online class. Old computers and some very incompetent teachers are just a plus. I am sorry VCAD for this review but I didn't get what I paid for.

VCAD is great college, I have been there to upgrade my education in to Canadian level in Interior Design Program, great Instructors and staffs, perfect atmosphere, and I had a very amazing time there and also gained lots of industry level experience.

I d like to give a explosive shout-out to the Admin staff, teachers and fellow students here at VCAD College. Support is what they do best.
I began my studies at VCAD in November of 2017 to see if an old dog could learn new tricks and yes indeed I have succeeded thus far.
I ve had the usually ups and downs that any old man might expect when attempting to rewire his brain to a rapidly changing world, but I ll have you know that the data transfusions are going well.
In 18 months I ll be as good as new and ready to kick some serous derriere on the 3D Animation playing field. I hope to see you out there cheering me on or come join us at VCAD and be part of this winning team.

This school is very good at getting people's money and providing very little value in return. Stay away at all costs.

very knowledgeable staff and campus leader. i called today to find out more information and the campus director took the time to answer all my questions. she even invited me to come to try a class.

I inquired for my son, the admissions people were a bunch a sales people forcing us to apply without any knowledge of anything. Is this how they conduct admissions here where they need to force kids ? I think this needs to be looked at.

3D Animation Student.
Having just graduated I would like to say a few things about the school.

1) FIRST AND FOREMOST. Is that you gotta work your ass off while your here to be successful post studies. If your unsure come to one of the graduate exhibitions and see if you can see the difference. Just show up on time, do your work, challenge yourself and dont coast with easy projects - push yourself, be friendly, be engaged in the lessons and try your hardest.

2) I experienced for the most part amazing, highly skilled, and helpful instructors who made me want to work harder, and were hard on their students preparing us for what its like in the studios. On the other hand, I also had a few who were extremely out of date, aggressive towards students, or just not fit for the job. Now I would like to say that the school is aware of such situations, and it can be hard to find a proper qualified instructor. There are people in the school who are working extremely hard to build a fantastic team and from the time I started until the time i finished the quality of instructors has gone up tenfold and I would like to think that the under performing teachers are a lesson in itself(even if the lesson will cost you around $1200). take it how you like. At the end of the day, its more up to the student than the instructor, but a great instructor can help make you better faster with good mentoring.

3)I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to put in the work. The rewards are more than worth it, just put the controller or the bottle down and take some time off from your other life.
