With diplomacy you solve them all very quickly with the necessary thanks and respect. The project started here and ended well. The process lasted because there were a lot of visas scheduled. I had emotions and I felt in a very important place that must be treated with great seriousness and responsibility. The process was followed by the development of the project and it was a unique experience that opened my eyes to the western world for the first time. An experience I will never forget, marking my life in a special way, with beautiful moments, with successes, with all the best that can ever happen to me.

Good organization and staff of American descent was very kind.

The only inconvenience I experienced was the interaction with the Romanian lady from the first counter (where you are checked if you have all the necessary documents to support the interview) that behaved like a budget in the Romanian system, having a complete attitude hostile and superiority.

The fingerprint registration and the actual interview were made by two young Americans. The discussion with them was very pleasant, the questions I had to answer were from the list of the DS160 form.

Those who complain that they have waited a lot or that there are no rooms arranged to queue probably did not read too carefully the instructions received in connection with the interview. You do not have to present yourself to the embassy more than 10 minutes before the time you were scheduled. It's not like the tail of bread, where if you came two hours before, you came in front of those who came after you. If you're scheduled at 8 o'clock, you're nice to 8 without ten, and there's no problem. No one takes your place or you stay out.

Everyone here is very helpful and professional, and get you through your visa process as quickly as possible.

First thing to know: you must wait outside the embassy until a security guard reviews your paper (the final confirmation for your visa application - make sure you have this printed out and bring it with you!). Another guard will allow people to enter the building (usually two people at a time).

Once inside, you must give them your cell phone (this should be turned off!) - don't worry, you will get it back when you leave.

You will be directed to the building where the visa process will take place. First, you will receive a number. Listen carefully, your number will be called to several desks.

The first time your number will be called, they will ask you a few details from your visa application (why do you want to visit the U.S., what is your email address etc.) to make sure everything checks out.

You will later be called for fingerprinting - this process will be explained to you, but in case you still don't understand there are written instructions with photos next to the fingerprint scanner.

Finally you will be called in for your interview - this will take a few minutes and you get to explain in detail why you want to visit the U.S., what you're going to do there, some details about your life, work etc. - at the end they will let you know if your visa has been approved.

Everyone inside is very helpful, e.g. if you need to drink water they will direct you to the nearest water fountain, if you don't understand something they will explain it to you etc.

Everything went very smoothly. I parked in the residential area across the street.
Better buy your own dollars and pay in dollars. I paid in RON, bad exchange rate. If I had bought the 140 dollars I needed at an exchange place I would have saved almost 20 RON. (That's 15 hot-dogs at IKEA.)
When I visited the old consulate years ago in the city center I felt the workers were very hostile, but my experience at this new consulate was very positive and the staff I interacted with were cordial.

It was a great experience at the embassy, everything was well organised and systematically arranged and processed. I found the entire team right from the security, office staff and counselor very kind and cooperative. Thank you for such a fantastic experience, will always remember it. This is the first time I have had such a beautiful experience here on Romanian soil.
From the beginning we were treated with respect, and going through all the stages until the end I found that all, but absolutely all those who interviewed us showed "professionalism at the highest level"
Ps: As long as you yourself are correct, organized and you know how to respect them, you will be treated absolutely the same.

Quite easy and professional the whole application and interview process for the visa ..... Go with an open heart ... I waited only 5 minutes and after another 25 minutes I left the consulate offices.

The Romanian citizens who come to the American embassy for a visa or for various problems are treated worse as the last beggars and beggars are forced to wait under improvised shelter at the mercy of the weather (improvisation only protects from rain). money to set up a space for these amateurs after spending everything on high hedges, high gates and spaces for relaxing officials. Impressions about getting the tourist visa for the USA.
I was pleasantly surprised by the good organization and professionalism of the staff who deal with the visa applicants.
From the waiting point that is next to the embassy, until the moment of the interview.
At 7.30, two employees came and informed us about the procedure to be followed regarding documents and security measures.
At 7.45 the 8.00 and 8.15 series were already under control (we were scheduled at 8.15). Immediately I entered a well-equipped waiting room, the passports were checked and I received no order. There followed a passport reverification, fingerprinting and interview with a consul. At 8.45 am I was ready with the visa approval. All the staff were very friendly and cooperative in the lead with Mrs. Consul with whom we had the interview. Romanian authorities should also learn from the experience of how to deal with people.

In 30 minutes I got the visa ... well organized inside ... the waiting period outside the embassy was unpleasant. .. I caught a horrible weather with cold and rain and the place you expect does not help you too much ...

Super organization. Everything has gone by, starting with filling in the online forms until the passport was delivered. I got my passport the day after the interview. Extremely efficient!

I just went today to the US Embassy to pay my respects with some flowers and a message to Muhammad Ali, one of the greatest americans of all time, and when the Romanian guard talked to someone inside, he or she told him to tell me to come tomorrow....again, this is a very poor way to communicate or just another arrogant attitude from the embassy staff. You just have to learn again and again from the one who was "the Greatest". RIP Muhammad Ali.

For visas, access between 12-13 hours is not allowed. If you have an appointment at 1 pm, do not arrive too fast, because you will have to wait outside, on the road, in a specially arranged space. It is best to arrive about 15 minutes before the scheduled time and wait in that specially arranged space. Security and discipline is maximum and photography is forbidden.
The staff of the embassy is very sociable and friendly if you follow the instructions provided.

Unfortunately, officials do not do their duty in the home country .... but fortunately there are officials who do their duty in America .... in conclusion the embassy is totally useless.

Exceptional service! My wife was there to get her immigrant visa, and had a small paperwork issue, but the American, and Romanian as well, were extremely accommodating, and did everything in their power to help, with a successful outcome. Fabulous people!

Today I am very fulfilled because I received the visa! It was a very interesting experience. A very formal staff, gendarmes and S.R.I officers at the entrance who did not even let you sit on the sidewalk in front, all the organization from leaving the phones and control from the entrance until you get to the actual interview is very effective. You can see the western mentality. I don't know if it was just for the students who go with Work & Travel, but I found the consuls very nice. I had heard stories that he might fall for you if he doesn't like your face or things like that, but while I was there I saw only one rejected and he gave him good arguments for doing it. Otherwise all good. I'm waiting to go to America now.

Everyone is very helpful and professional. We had a bit of a problem with my wife's visa causing some panic due to time constraints but Anca Muresan was able to quickly and personally help us resolve them. She went above and beyond our expectations and pulled off a miracle

USA still treats Romanian citizens like third world country...Look at the new embassy layout....people queuing outside the building for the Visa, no mater the weather. Waiting area is across the street and despite being a special built place there is no ''zebra''. There is no dedicated parking area...you have to leave the car on the grass or in the private residential area close-by....

it is expected pretty much outside, the security seems to be umpic to the extreme, but considering that the embassy is ok, the parking spaces are missing

Friendly staff, new and clean building. From my point of view, the security measures are pretty much taken.

Everything went well. I had an appointment at 09:00, at 9:30 I already had a visa. Everything is strict, it goes very quickly once you get inside. In my case, how they gave me the receipt, how they called me to go to the counter for verification, imprinting ... etc.
From what I have seen the questions vary from person to person. Some stayed for 20 seconds and took the visa .. others 10 minutes. It seems that people who have been to the USA are more closely checked.
Anyway, ok experience, if it would go that way to our institutions ... we would be far away

A tip for those who want to aim: at the interview you are expected to tell them a reason why you must return to the country. The rest are formalities and silly questions. If you are honest and want to visit the country without any intention of staying there is not enough, it really is a problem. Plus, the programming phase is worthless, it is ignored.

Quick and painless, in & out in 45 minutes, no time wasted, which I appreciated.

...I have some comments about the visa issuing process - the waiting times are hours long. If you schedule your interview for 7.30 be prepared to wait till 11 or so. The worst - the Embassy keeps the people waiting ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET in a for bus like shelter. In winter/autumn or during incremental weather is terrible to wait there you'll get frozen and drenched by rain. Considering Romanians have no problem with this I guess they deserve it but I think this should never happen ( and doesn't ) in any other civilized EU country. ...

Apparently, if you're young, it's impossible to get a visa. On their site, telling you to bring evidence that you have links that prevent you from leaving Romania, but there at the Embassy does not ask for anything.

It's embarrassing that they have such a large space, but they don't have a decent reception area for visa applicants. There is no parking for them so they leave their cars on the boulevard, on the sidewalk or simply on the field. The tail is formed outside, over the road, under a minimal and too small cover, without protection from cold or heat.
