We poured about 3500 sq foot of driveway and 50% of it is extremely cracked some 3/4 of an inch. So at this point it MUST be replaced. Our walkway has cracks every 8 ft. Project manager basically couldn t care less and told us that was normal. This is the same project manager that talked us out of putting rebar in it. Mind you this is inside of our warranty period. I decided not to fight with them because building our house was very stressful and I was tired but it would be nice to get some resolution.

When they tell you they can build you a home for cheap. They really mean CHEAP. They uses cheap material through out their homes and they don't use any energy efficient stuff to build their homes. Their uses cheap light fixtures, kitchen appliance, and bathroom material. They use the bare minimum on energy efficient stuff. They only use R-13 fiber glass insulation in the exterior wall, R-30 on the flat ceiling, and R-19 on the slopped ceiling. That's basically it when it comes energy efficient on their home besides the low-e window which every other builder uses also. They can't even tell you how efficient their A/C unit is when other builder uses 16 seers. Most of the other builder uses R-15 to foam insulation in the exterior walls, R-38 on the flat ceiling, and uses radiant barrier/solar board, uses moisture/wind barrier wrap, and uses electric vent on the roof to provide optimum energy efficiency. Turner and son will charge you a premium if you want to get any of these energy efficient features. Turner and son home does not come standard with fences, sprinkler system, full gutter, rounder corner and arched ways, elongated toilet, no vaulted/recessed ceiling, no recessed lights in the kitchen, and the list goes on. Most of the other builder come standard with these stuff. They still only come with 40 gallon water heater when others uses at least 50 standard. Turner and son even use the cheap drop-in sink in their kitchen. If you want the under mount sink under the granite counter it'll cost you a premium also. Turner and son also don't come standard with the pull down stairs attic access in the garage. The pull down stair is a $700.00 upgrade according to their construction manager. On an approx. 2K square feet home, they'll charge you $1K to upgrade the ceiling insulation from R-30 to R-38, $1,400.00 to add radiant barrier/solar board.

When I went to look at their model home in Hidden Prairie in Edmond, OK. There are molds growing on their garage ceiling. The bottom of the exterior wall looks like it was rotten away and the brick was installed incorrect(the side of the brick with holes was facing out.)

Don't let them fool you with their low price per square footage. They lure you in with that price and when you want any upgrade they'll charge you a premium for it. At the end are you really getting a better deal than if you had gone with another builder that included all those features already? Compare them with all upgrade you want you'll find out turner and son really aren't that good of a deal as they claim to be.

Also do not expect the same treatment before and after you signed the contract with them. Their communication within the company sucks also. It took them more than 1 month to answer a question. Before the contract was signed it'll only take a few hours if a day for them to get back with me. After the contract is signed it'll take them weeks to get back to me. No one seem to be on the same page when things go wrong. This is just a horrible company to build with. They'll make all kind of mistake when they build your house. Their excuse is "everything can be fixed." Why can't they build everything right the first time. Like I said their communication channel sucks. They only care if they make the most money out of you. They don't care if they build you a good energy efficient home. They'll even tell you that other builder misrepresent their build specs when they don't know the truth.

If you still want to build with turner and son make sure you bring a realtor. Because you ain't going to get much out of it if you don't. Turner and son will tell you that they don't need realtor and don't rely on realtor to sell their home. Oh really, is that why there is a big section on their web site that says "Realtors."

See other above 1 star review from John Smith. Our experience was EXACTLY the same. Communication is awful!! The more you pay and further along the build gets the worse they get. The price you pay is not quality work. And your 'supervisor' wont have a clue what is going on or wrong or right with your build.. Save yourself the headache and just keep looking.. We regret our decision to let them build our "dream home".

I can personally speak to who Tim is as a person. He is very mentally acute and focused on providing his customers with the best possible experience that he can. What really wow's me is the blog section on his website! He has taken the time to write over 200 articles that help explain the home building process and make it really easy for his customers to understand. I would highly recommend this company to build your new home!
