As a shop in Ashland, we know our gear can take a beating. I’ve seen plenty of skis with deep gouges where standard candle wax repairs fail to hold up over time. That’s why the Tognar base repair gun has become such a reliable tool in our kit. It fills in damage effectively, creating a patch that performs just like the original base material. It’s a solid piece of hardware that actually delivers on its promise.

I purchased some vinyl protection from Tognar Toolworks in Ashland to shield my son’s skis from the inevitable damage of hard skiing. They had picked up a few dings and gouges, so this was the perfect fix. The wrap arrived nicely packaged and the material quality is excellent. Application was straightforward, and the adhesive holds strong. With this on, those cosmetic issues won’t bother me, and I expect it to hold up for years. My only tip would be to have a quick guide or video on the site, though being handy helped me figure it out after a quick search on YouTube. Solid product at a reasonable price from the local hardware store—I’d definitely recommend it.

A solid, practical addition to my toolkit here in Ashland. The key to getting the best results is ensuring your clamps are tight and keeping that blade razor-sharp and perfectly vertical. It’s a dependable piece of equipment that has served me well for years.

Shoppers at Tognar Toolworks in Ashland often find that their grinders deliver a sharper edge than any they’ve used before. While the ceramic and diamond bits require regular cleaning or replacement to maintain performance, the file bit remains an excellent, reliable tool.

Tognar Toolworks in Ashland really nailed the basics with this kit. It’s perfect for everyday maintenance rather than high-end racing, handling everything from the initial metal mill cuts to coarse and fine grinding. I was impressed by how quickly it worked; I had a sharp edge and a clean base ready in just six minutes.

If you are looking for lightweight ski cords that actually work, Tognar Toolworks has you covered. I love how they tuck neatly into my boots without causing any irritation. It is so convenient that when I take my skis off, the cords are right there with them. Highly recommend these to anyone in Ashland!

As a shop in Ashland, OR, Tognar Toolworks sees a lot of riders trying to save their gear, and this review hits on a common concern. The customer wasn’t sure if they could apply the protection without ending up with a messy, bubbly finish, but they were happy with the result. They had a snowboard with a delicate, flat-finish topsheet that needed extra care after a warranty claim. While a few tiny bubbles remained, most were worked out during installation. The film adheres clearly and invisibly, even on non-glossy decks, making it a solid choice for riders with newer Burton boards who want reliable protection without compromising the board’s look.

If you have modern backcountry skis that come with a concave base or raised edges from the factory, Tognar’s planers might not be the right fit for your needs. I purchased these tools from their Ashland, OR location hoping to flatten the bases at home, but found that they don’t actually remove edge material as advertised. While the square blade is useful for smoothing P-tex repairs or convex bases, it struggles to address the specific concave shape of newer skis because the tool flexes against the base rather than cutting down the edges. Ultimately, despite the price tag, they felt more like an expensive steel scraper than a solution for true base flattening.

Tognar Toolworks has a solid selection. I found this wax to be genuinely good—it applies smoothly and delivers great results when you stick to the directions. For anyone looking for convenience without sacrificing performance, it’s an easy, reliable choice that holds its own against traditional hot waxing.

Shopping at Tognar Toolworks in Ashland, I picked up an item that’s mostly okay but has a specific design flaw. It’s decent length and functional for the most part, but the Velcro is just too aggressive. You really struggle to pull it apart at the end. I ended up rigging my own pull tabs with duct tape to make it usable.

If you are looking for reliable tools, skip the rest and go with Tognar Toolworks in Ashland. I put their SKIMENDER through its paces in a demanding shop environment in Aspen and it never let me down. I eventually bought my own unit. For effective ptex removal, just keep a few steel scrapers razor-sharp, or opt for a planer if you want to eliminate core shot issues entirely.

If you're looking for a cost-effective option at Tognar Toolworks in Ashland, their bulk all-temperature wax is a smart buy. While it isn't formulated for specific snow conditions, it handles a wide range of weather just fine. I've stuck with Swix over the competition like Toko because I find it far easier to scrape off.

Tognar Toolworks really knows how to make a quality tool. This P-Tex gun was incredibly easy to set up and get running. The extrusion is smooth with just a light squeeze of the trigger, and the heavy metal plate makes it a breeze to spread and smooth out the wax on my ski base. I’m especially impressed by the magnetic base on the plate—it keeps the hot gun stable and secure before and after I’m done working.

If you’re looking for professional-grade gear, Tognar Toolworks has you covered. Their finish handles to touch up your display in just one to three coats. It might take a bit more work, like a candle drip or a second pass with the gun, to get everything perfectly flat, but it really simplifies home repair tasks. If you need to take it up a notch, you might want to pair it with a Swix Pro Edger or a similar tool.

I’m a loyal customer of Tognar Toolworks here in Ashland, having now purchased my second planer. I originally bought one with a narrow blade for traditional straight skis, and recently added a wider-blade model to handle modern race skis. This setup is perfect because I never need to swap blades between jobs. These tools are incredibly durable and built to last a lifetime.

Shoppers at Tognar Toolworks in Ashland know that this kit is a game-changer for ski maintenance. While it’s easy to overapply the Ptex and end up scraping off the excess, the resulting repair is incredibly durable and won’t crack. It’s far superior to the old drip-candle method—trust me, you’ll wish you made the switch years ago.

Tognar Toolworks really delivers on their promise. The ski racks are top-notch and do exactly what they are supposed to. After moving, I spent ages hunting for the right gear online, and these stood out as the only ones combining that specific level of quality with the features I needed. Even though I’m in Finland, the shipping process was seamless. Highly recommended for anyone prioritizing durable ski storage, and they work well for non-rocker skis too.

As a shop tech with two decades of experience, I picked up this tool from Tognar Toolworks in Ashland to handle my own ski base grinding instead of relying on a shop. I followed their video guide and prepared some boards to get started. It definitely takes some elbow grease; it required numerous passes to flatten the ski initially. I started with the included medium stone, pausing frequently to brush away the cut material, and occasionally switched to the steel cutting bar to address fine hairs and expose fresh surface. After about 45 minutes, I had a flat ski with reasonable structure, though I’m still watching to see if the base pattern holds up over time. I’ve applied storage wax to test absorption and will be testing them on the slush at Timberline in a few weeks to see how they perform.

As a beginner at ski tuning, I found the Tognar tool intuitive and comfortable to use. It minimizes guesswork, though I initially had to figure out that the side dial arrow indicates which side you are adjusting. My only minor gripe is that it is easy to forget to adjust the angle when switching between the edges and the base, as the correct difference is just about four degrees.

The Tognar tool is an incredible addition to any home workshop for ski tuning. I strongly suggest watching the instructional videos on the Tognar website to learn the proper technique. Over the season, I’ve used it every five to seven days on my skis. Once the base structure is established, maintenance becomes minimal. Honestly, I’d trust this tool over a base grinder and a tech any day. It’s intuitive and easy to control; following the video guide prevents over-tuning. The enhanced structure it creates has drastically improved how well my skis absorb and hold wax.

As a hardware store in Ashland, Tognar Toolworks definitely knows their gear, and this tool proves it. It levels up the base of your skis, making a huge difference in glide performance. Even with previously uneven bases, the improvement was instant. I’m thrilled with the quality and would highly recommend it to any skier.

I bought this base flattener from Tognar Toolworks in Ashland, and it has been a fantastic addition to my ski tuning routine. It excels at addressing base high issues, which is a very common wear pattern for skis. By evening out the base, it restores that snappy, responsive feel you get with a brand-new pair, making edge-to-edge transitions much quicker. However, it’s important to know its limits. This isn’t a replacement for a shop’s stone grinder. If your ski has severe damage or requires removing a large amount of material, this tool will take a long time to do the job, and a mechanical grind is probably better. Also, it won’t fix asymmetric edge wear (where one edge is worn down more than the other), as it uses the edges to guide its depth. For true parallel tuning or fixing uneven edges, a computer-controlled stone grind is still necessary. Additionally, if your ski is edge high, this device won't help since it doesn't cut into the edges. Fortunately, most skis suffer from base wear rather than edge wear, so this is rarely an issue. One minor downside is the surface finish; it leaves linear grooves from tip to tail rather than the geometric chevron pattern you’d get from a professional stone grind. While it won’t give you that race-ready look, it effectively levels the base and improves performance for the majority of skiers. Highly recommended for routine maintenance!

I had a great experience ordering from Tognar Toolworks in Ashland. The pricing was fair, and my item arrived quickly and was packed securely. It’s not always easy to find hardware sold by the foot at a reasonable rate, so I really appreciated that convenience. Got exactly what I needed, thank you!

I bought this from Tognar Toolworks in Ashland, hoping it would shield my Blizzard Brahmas from the abuse of being an instructor. While I trust it works well for protection, it didn't look right on my solid black skis. Every tiny flaw was super visible, and I struggled to get a bubble-free application. If your gear has a complex design, this might be a better fit, but on a plain dark finish, it just doesn't blend in.

Disappointing performance that doesn't match the hype at Tognar Toolworks. I’m curious if the glowing reviews are accurate or if negative feedback is being filtered out. This device failed to flatten concave skis or handle structuring tasks effectively. At best, it only managed to remove some Ptex after a candle repair, and I nearly ruined two pairs of skis in the process. Glad Wintersteiger is just down the street for the repairs I’ll need.

I’ve been using Tognar Toolworks’ coarse stones for years, and they are now my go-to choice for the Ski Sharp. While finer grits might suit racers or those tackling dry powder, these coarser stones quickly deliver the sharp edge I need for local snow conditions. In fact, I recently purchased a second set as a backup, just in case I need to resharpen before my original set requires reconditioning.

Shipped quickly to Ashland and arrived in perfect condition. The Tognar top sheet protection did exactly what it promised—shielding my new skis from scrapes without adding visible bulk. It was a breeze to apply, and honestly, you can barely see it once it’s on. Great value for the price, too.

Another solid recommendation from Roy. I’ve actually placed a second order now, splitting my set between the steel blade and the structure stone versions. Having spent time working in a ski shop myself, I can confidently say this is the most versatile waxing tool I’ve used in over four decades.

I found the height specifications for this Tognar Toolworks product a bit confusing. The 9mm dimension refers only to the insert, excluding the plastic cap, which makes the overall unit taller than I expected. Also, one of the plastic caps popped off during installation, which was frustrating.

Sean

If you are setting inserts for a snowboard or building a split board, Tognar Toolworks offers an unbeatable combination of their plastic-capped inserts and their specific drill bit. The process is seamless: after drilling 1/8" and 5/16" pilot holes, the bit creates a perfect countersink for the insert, leaving just a tiny bit of material (around 1/32" to 1/64") to be sanded or sliced flush. The bit’s built-in stop prevents over-drilling, and the shaft grooves align perfectly with the 5/16" hole. A bit of 2-ton epoxy secures them nicely. Just ensure your board is base-ground and tuned before heading out. I’m very happy with the outcome. Big thanks to Scott and the team in Ashland for making such high-quality products.

Tognar Toolworks has delivered an exceptional sharpening system that maintains razor-sharp edges with impressive precision. It handles both side and base bevels effortlessly, tracking the Magnatraction profile more accurately than any other tool I’ve used. I went ahead and purchased additional diamond and ceramic stones for polishing, which was a great addition. The build quality is outstanding, and it feels like an investment that will last a lifetime.

While the price tag at Tognar Toolworks in Ashland might raise an eyebrow, this ski rack is worth the investment for anyone worried about damaging their gear. It’s one of the rare designs that preserves the camber of your skis, and I’m really happy with that decision. It feels solid and well-made, it’s simple to operate, and it grips my 108mm skis without a wobble.

After picking this up from Tognar Toolworks in Ashland, I found it’s best to take your time and keep a steady hand. Like the reviewer noted, you might want to practice on an old pair of skis first, as it took me three passes to really get the hang of it. It’s a great addition to your on-hill or car kit for clearing out burrs after a day on the slopes. Just be aware that while the tool is effective, it does require a bit of practice to use as intended.

I stopped by Tognar Toolworks in Ashland to grab these inserts for a DIY splitboard build, opting for them over standard Voile T-nuts in high-torque binding zones. The installation with the Maizlinger-Snoli bit was pretty straightforward, though judging the drill depth was tricky. The bit hits bottom at the right depth, but the p-tex cap ended up sitting higher than the board base. I had to use an M6 bolt and washer from the top side to press the insert flush. After installing a dozen or so, a few started spinning because the ridges dug into the core and lost their grip—ironically, that’s exactly the issue I was trying to avoid with the Voile nuts. A bit of epoxy on the loose inserts fixed the issue, and the bindings hold firm now. I’m happy with the product overall, though if anyone has a better installation technique, I’d love to hear it.

I haven't found another tool quite like this for beveling my skis, and it does the job perfectly. Just remember to do a quick hard dewaxing afterward to get rid of those P-tex hairs, followed by a light shave before you start waxing. I’d give it five stars if the stone were a bit wider to cover the entire base in one pass, but I’m sure Skivision will make that happen soon. If you enjoy tuning your gear like I do, this is definitely a must-have addition to your toolkit here in Ashland.

As a loyal Tognar Toolworks customer in Ashland, I’ve tried just about every Swix product out there, and they’ve never let me down. Picking up these bulk boxes is the perfect way to stock up for myself and the skiing crew. The universal wax is hands down the most versatile option—no need to stress about the temperature range, it just works. It’s also excellent for hot scraping, and you really can’t beat the value for the amount you get. I do wish they brought back the warmer-temperature universal variant; that formula was truly top-notch.

After 16 years of relying on the Ski Visions system at Tognar Toolworks in Ashland, I’ve found it to be the most straightforward way to maintain my gear. Tognar Toolworks has a real gem in this compact stone. It’s super convenient for slipping into your pocket, though you do need steady fingers to keep it aligned with the blade. I’m happy with the purchase, but it’s definitely not for the kids—give it to the adults who know how to handle it with care.

I’m another satisfied customer of Tognar Toolworks here in Ashland. I already own their Ski Sharp Edge tuner, but this Base Flattening and Structure tool is actually even more user-friendly. Just make sure to check out the detailed instructions on tognar.com before you dive in—it’s really worth the read. I found that only two or three passes, with four to six strokes each, were enough to flatten and texture my skis. I started by cleaning the base with acetone I grabbed from a local hardware store. Since I ski mostly in spring conditions, I’m planning to buy the course texture stone next.

As a shop in Ashland, Tognar Toolworks has been a game-changer for me. I used to dread stone grinds because they were pricey and often left my skis sluggish. Now, I handle everything myself with Tognar’s gear and it works perfectly. I’m saving money and getting better results. The coarse stone is my favorite—it really tackles the work when needed.

I had to sharpen a few pairs of skis to get the hang of using this, but once I figured it out, I was very happy with the results. I’m not trying to shave off every tiny fraction of a millimeter; I just want skis that perform well. Definitely don’t need to go beyond the medium grit stone unless you are removing a lot of material.
