I just discovered their extension next door. Wow, I really liked the selection of graphic novels and art books. Definitely the type of shop that I could spend a good chunk of time just wandering and browsing...and eventually purchasing quite a few items. Great shop, with a great vibe and friendly staff. Places like this remind me of why I need to move farther east...someday...
Listen to this: muckracking, commodity aesthetics, anarchism, stolen continents. At this bookstore, these are -genres-. What an amazing little gem! I adored all the sections and the poetry they had upstairs too! Small hole in the wall but a great place for some downtime while exploring the city.
It's very tranquil with wonderful reading mayerial that you can browse at your leisure. It's where you go to quiet your mind.
The woman working there was great. She said that you can search their website to see which books they have in stock, but I just checked and the online search doesn't work. :( It would be cool if they could fix that.
Amazing Staff and Customer Service. They have a lot of donation Base groups. Open Mic is amazing!
If any one is anyone i would come here people are friendly and lots of odd books you can't really find anywhere else, their outreach program is pretty awesome and the music is genuine and full! The art is good and you can pretty much find what you need here. If you have children and need them to be open minded and more in tune with their spirituality this is the place to come. When they have events they go all out you won't regreat join one of their many classes they offer you can really learn alot.
One of my favorite cultural/community spaces in the area. It takes me back to the time I was attending CSUN and had fundraisers. Great books and events in this space.
Love this place !!! We have been coming here or to their other(now closed) location for at least 10 years. They truly care about enriching the neighborhood by offering classes and great books!
Beautiful cultural space offering events for the family!!
Excellent cultural resources and center offering arts, music, theater, Aztec dance, writing for youth, poetry etc and a good bookstore based on indigenous culture in the Northeast San Fernando Valley
