Quite a unique opera house, definitely worth checking out.

Unfortunately it was not possible to watch a show but the scenery and the context are fantastic.

Very good looking opera, proposing extraordinary representations, agreeable seats and subtitles.

Always a good experience attending Santa Fe's Grand Opera... world class experience right here in our own little city...tonights performance of LA Boheme was a class production in every way.

Great experience. Tailgating before hand is a most. We did dessert and wine because it started so late. The scenery is amazing. My only complaints are how later if started and the fact you can order drinks but you can bring them to your seat.

An amazing outdoor Opera House. Bring a jacket but you probably won't need it. Tailgate if you can and listen to "The Prelude". It will double your enjoyment of the Opera. Been here 4 out of the last 5 years.

Concierge at the Four Seasons Rancho Encantado, I have recommended many guests to go to this Opera......but tonight I went! I was blown away! What Hamilton was to Broadway, The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs is to Opera. It should transition to Broadway as Rap did. I loved every second. Bravo!

The place to watch opera. We saw Dr. Atomic, a modern opera obviously, with profound implications for us all.

What an amazing venue! The acoustics were incredible. If you have never been to a concert or opera there you should make a it a point to go. I saw Wilco there. Wow just wow!

Gorgeous setting, wonderful performance! The bar left a lot to be desired, but other then this a wonderful evening.
We showed up early and picniced in the parking lot. It was fun with everyone all dressed up and the hilltop location was amazing.
The theatre was breathtaking, the view was to die for. The show, was in a word quality! From the set, to the actors, to the voices; amazing!
The bar on the other otherhand, well they couldn't manage typical cocktails and their wine selection was sad. If they up their beverage game the experience will round roundout to a solid 5 star rating.

The Santa Fe Theater Opera's Crosby has put together innovative and original programming that gives it an international reputation. Its indoor / outdoor amphitheater is built on a hillside with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. After the founding of the New Mexico Opera Association in 1956 by director and founder John O'Hea Crosby, this theater was built on a former ranch and the work was supervised by itself. His first season began on July 3, 1957.
John Crosby (1926-2002) was a musician, conductor and American arts administrator. He was famous as founding general manager of the Santa Fe opera that bears his name, a company he has overseen for 43 years.

So beautiful. Show starts after sundown, so have a glass of wine and watch the sunset. I've never heard a bad thing about the SF Opera and it's world renowned.

The Santa Fe Opera is a truly amazing experience. The performers are world class, but you also get to have the experience in the most amazing venue.

We attended the opera in July, and we got there well before the performance so we could enjoy viewing the architecture and the sunset. Highly recommend!

One tip, be sure to bring layers, ladies! It can get chilly by the time the performance is over. I was grateful to have my wrap when heading back to our car after the performance.

Hard to put in words however what a magical venue. Every seat is a good seat, fantastic acoustics, clean, comfortable, ample parking! What don't you love about tailgating? Did I mention views?

An internationally acclaimed, iconic opera house venue with top artists and operas year after year. It's worth a Santa Fe getaway just for this reason. Take in a tour of the opera house - and/or a preview dinner if you can. The shuttle will provide transportation from many SF locations.

Great venue, left side exposed to rain (if and when it ever rains). But just gorgeous.

This world-renowned opera is well worth a visit, whether or not you enjoy opera. They do have affordable tickets for all of the operas, and I have also heard that they have inexpensive standby tickets. The location is beautiful (a great place for sunsets). They have backstage tours on weekdays and Saturdays in the summer - check their website for more info on times/days and prices. At select show times, they have pre-show lectures which are really informative both about the plot of the opera and on opera history in general.

If you have not been to the Santa Fe Opera you have no idea what a sight it is. It is unbelievable the performances that are put on. I enjoyed Romeo and Juliet, and Don Giovanni this summer. What a treat.

We love to come here. The views are spectacular and last night's performance of Madame Butterfly was outstanding. Kelly Karduce as Butterfly did an amazing job and "nailed" the aria Un Belle Die perfectly!

Fantastic venue for opera performed by the resident company. We went early and enjoyed a box dinner on the outdoor patio. Next was a talk by Peter Sellars, the director of the evenings performance of Dr Atomic. The opera itself was world class. Our seats were comfortable and we loved the evening.

The Santa fe Opera is exquisite. I recommend everyone to experience it's Splendor and beauty. I've recently attended an event and found the staff incredibly friendly and professional. I'm looking forward to enjoying another evening with family & friends at the Opera.

I was nervous to go to a concert here but I should not have been; This place is really well-organized and easy. Even the parking at a sold-out show was a breeze. I'm impressed by this place and I definitely will return.

Unique outdoor setting. Rainy, stormy, lightning weather adds to performance... lighting seems to strike at the right dramatic moment. Venue is covered by roof, but can be chilly because there are no side walls (bring a jacket).

Go warm. The auditorium is open and can be somewhat cold, the acoustics, however, is excellent.

Our first experience with Santa Fe Opera has been a great experience. Cosi Fan Tutti was a wonderful presentation, with a modern take on the story. The young performers were all very good, and the modernized story was delightful. Our first experience was a wonderful experience and we're looking forward to seeing another.

Beautiful venue, great scene. Parking is ample and free, but getting out at the end of a show is a little tough. They could rethink where they place their traffic-directors and improve a little.

I had never been to an Opera, so having the most Amazing bf that I have, I one day mentioned I'd like to go and there we were.
After dinner @Vernons we drove to Santa Fe and enjoyed our very first Opera together on our Anniversary.
If you've never been to an Opera here's the scoop. You can dress up as lovely as you'd like most people will be dressed to kill. The crowd is older, we were definitely out numbered. But I wouldn't complain about being amoung the wise .
There were 3 intermission at which point, those that enjoy life can get a drink or two? I will only say this once, Do not order a nut job!! Every sip from start to finish of this powerful concoction will bring you closer to becoming a nut job. Needless to say, I could not drink it although I did feel forced to by a certain individual... There is also plenty of beer choices which nether of us care for.
The view here is Amazing as you can see in the pic, also people working the Opera are extremely friendly and helpful.
If you aren't a heels lady, don't wear them it is a walk from the parking area. If you must wear heels like me, there is a shuttle that does pick ups and drop offs but there is still a walk to your vehicle.
We will definitely be coming back for more, Romeo and Juliet & also Vanessa is on my list. Oh! & take lotion a small bottle will do, I remember needing lotion for my hands and it was nowhere to be found. I started contemplating what I would trade someone for a squirt of lotion...haha. Probably not a big deal for guys, but us ladies love to feel soft.

A wonderful Opera House open to nature. Great location, easy parking and the acoustics are perfect.

We saw Daughter of the Regiment here. We also did a free Saturday morning backstage tour that was very interesting. Who knew that it took 800 people working on site to mount the repertory of 5 operas? The building is an imaginative and impressive setting for opera: the sides and stage back are open, so the mountains of New Mexico are visible -- the sunset just before the opera started was great. The opera itself was very professionally done -- the singing and orchestra were very good, the set and costumes were well done, and the staging and acting were particular standouts for me.

The only real downside was our fault: we knew that the open sides would make it cool but we hadn't packed warm enough clothes (the trip to the opera was a spur-of-the-moment choice), so we shivered through the performance. I think it is probably the worst where we were sitting, lower orchestra on the left (as you face the stage), because that's where the prevailing winds come in. So if you come for a performance, be sure to dress warmly in case it as cold as it was for us. Many people dress up somewhat formally, but there were also plenty wearing more casual clothes.

The tailgating scene before the show was also something to behold.

If you are not sure if you should see a performance here, you should. It is one of the best opera locations on the planet.

You will love it even if you aren't an opera kind of person.

Beautiful production of a heart reaching Opera. The music, the pre-performance talk and set design were outstanding. I look forward to 2019!

Great Opera House! Have seen three operas there. 2 were great, one was just so bad, I cannot give this place 5 stars. Also they sell beer and wine but only allow water in the main seating area.

OUTSTANDING sound, great seats, would have given 5stars > but the seats NEED 2b new seats and backs.

Very special experience getting to tailgate with family and then getting to listen to what I can only describe is being immersed in pure, symphonic emotion garnished with voices powerful and angelic. Beautiful vistas at sunset and the cool northern New Mexico breezes during through the open-air theater at the end of summer. Simply amazing.
