Used to be good in my 1st year, now in my 4th and this place sucks. Went from food on every level to absolutely no food in the library at all which is a joke when you are studying 12-hour days. You will be publicly beaten and shamed by security if you are found with food. Sometimes you can bribe the guy with the triple chin and double mustache but don't count on it.

A student favourite, one wonders why this library is so popular. While it retains the atmosphere of an old library which is condusive to focused studying, my experience during the exam season has been nothing short of a catastrophe. One will find it a normal occurrence to be roaming the library, floor to floor, sweating due to the abnormally warm temperatures, just trying to find a spot to study. If your laptop isn't charged, you have absolutely no business even stepping into this structure during the exam season. During other parts of the year, however, Weldon is an adequate library with an abundance of study locations.

Very large, with lots of seating. It gets crazy busy during exam time so it's worthwhile to go in early. Also remember to try and book study rooms if you are a group, i found that easier many times.

While Weldon can have its ups and down many people know it as the D.B. Penitentiary. Personally, I am not sure whether this is because it very much resembles a prison on the outside and some parts of the inside or if its just a nickname because its most students second home. Either way the library has good lighting and plugs for chargers in many areas, however in the winter it is so hot inside everyone's face is red!

i have study at western for 4 years and the Liberians are always nice and friendly to me and amberly did even better jobs to help me to solve my alumni account issues; further more, she also follow me up a email to present me additional solutions. i can not ask for more and this is more than the legendary customer service. i have to say such nice employee is the best asset for this university. all the best and thanks for your extra work.

It's hard to find a spot during exams, but once you find a spot, you have this satisfaction that I can't explain. It gets a little messy when students don't throw away their Timmie cups. It's also frustrating when people leave their notes and/jackets at a seat and don't return within 3+ hours.

Beautiful place to sit down, get some studying done, or just relax. Six floors of books available for all your academic purposes, plus an entire online digital library available. Service desk has different hours than Weldon's official hours, and closes much earlier (usually around 5pm). Good place to print what you need, too. Stairwell looks a bit like a dungeon, but the floors have large windows that allow for a beautiful view and lots of natural light. Also, the underground tunnel connecting Weldon to the UCC is incredibly convenient in the winter.

The D.B. Weldon Library is a part of Western Libraries, which is a comprehensive library system that provides access to books, databases, journal articles, archival expertise and more for Western University and the community in London, Ontario. The library has been serving the academic community since 1965 and has become an integral part of the university's academic life.
The D.B. Weldon Library is named after Dr. D.B. Weldon who was a professor at Western University from 1919 to 1951 and made significant contributions to the field of biology during his tenure at the university. The library houses over two million volumes of books, journals, maps, microforms and other materials that are available for use by students, faculty members and researchers.
One of the unique features of The D.B. Weldon Library is its extensive collection of rare books and manuscripts that are housed in its Archives & Research Collections department. This department holds over 70 archival collections that document various aspects of Canadian history including politics, literature, music and art.
In addition to its vast collection of resources, The D.B. Weldon Library also offers a range of services to support research activities on campus including interlibrary loan services which allow users to borrow materials from other libraries across Canada as well as internationally.
The library also provides access to numerous online databases such as JSTOR which contains millions of articles from thousands of academic journals covering various disciplines including science, technology and medicine among others.
Furthermore,the library offers workshops on topics such as citation management tools like EndNote or RefWorks; research data management; copyright issues related with publishing scholarly works etc., all aimed at helping students navigate through their research process with ease.
Apart from these services offered by The D.B.Weldon Library , it also has several study spaces available for students ranging from individual study carrels equipped with power outlets for laptops or mobile devices,to group study rooms equipped with whiteboards where students can collaborate on projects together .
Overall ,the mission statement behind The D.B.Weldon Library is "to provide excellent service in supportof teaching,research,and scholarship" . With its vast collection ,expertise staffs,and state-of-the-art facilities,it continues to be one among top-ranked libraries in Canada .
