Lovely place. Food was great, so tasty. We had the whole bottom area luckily as we had 5 children with us. Staff were patient with us and very friendly. Only downfall was there is no baby changing area.
One of my fave pubs. Hidden away from the hussle and bussle of London City life. A'traditional' pub. Good selection of drinks. Good food. Great atmosphere and good friendly staff as well. Well worth dropping in if you are a local or visitor.
Great pub with great food. We were with 2 children (11 + 14) there. Something for everyone and the music to our taste. Price / performance great. We would definitely return there on our next visit to London. Nice service and typical quaint English for everyone.
My favorite pub in London. Inexpensive fish n chips (also to go), traditional dining room in the basement and you can also enjoy the food outside with a view of St. Pauls Cathedral. In addition, the food there was affordable even for me as a student.
Fun little place. We came back twice, specifically for the sticky toffee pudding. The food was served within a reasonable time, it was hot when it arrived, and tasty. We ordered meat pies, fish and chips, and a sampler platter. The staff was accommodating, and prompt, and I found the decor to be charming - of course Dickens is a favorite author, so how could I not.
Good location and great place to go if you just want a drink, but the food wasn't anything special. My friend had the fish and chips, which was overcooked. I had the burger, which was a bit greasy, but okay.
Staff short on English so limited conversation. Both had a mixed grill and not asked how we wanted the meat cooking so can medium rare. Apart from the first mouthful that was warn everything else was cold. Not offered sauces etc. No customer service asked how the meal was even though we had left food on the plate. We have eaten here many times before without any issues. Looks as though new manager and staff which could get explain things.
As someone who works (and eats/drinks) in The City, I wouldn t recommend this place. It s proximity to St Paul s Cathedral means that it picks up lots of passing tourist trade and, because of this, it appears that it s OK to serve average food in an unfriendly way.
You may be lucky (if you re a party of one or two) to get decent service - the fish & chips, if served hot, is good. But I m embarrassed to see how, on far too many occasions, tourists are treated with poor service. As a Brit I m embarrassed. Lots of far better places in the area.
Extra room downstairs and tables outside for sunny days. Not tried the food so cant comment on that but fast service and a good atmosphere. Good location too!
This is an almost hidden gem. Just the door is visible but you go into a lovely setup with booths and tables, and a bright interior. It's on Knightrider Street and there is a signed photo of David Hasslehoff on the wall! Located between St Paul's Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge.
It was lunch time. Wet, cold and hungry we ran into this place. Fish and chip & beef stews were ordered. Food tasted fine largely due to the hunger. The place itself looked old and old-fashioned. The painted wood-floor gave a great potential to let customers fall down on a wet rainy day, especially for those customers who took quick alcohol shots at their lunch break. Ventilation might need improvement.

It's OK. Serves decent enough range of beers and other drinks. Food is standard pub grub. Staff aren't the most friendly or helpful but that's probably because they have to put up with tourists or businessmen/women
Chance discovery, had a lovely family meal there with awesome steak pie, lamb shank, burger and fish and chips as well as good drinks. Lovely owner who let us try the beer before choosing and great service. We can highly recommend it!
Very good service and menu proposal. We were attended by a very pleasant waitress who speaks Castilian. I forgot a wallet with my passport and all my credit cards and of course they had kept it for me. Thank you.

The staff were nice and service was quick but the food was basically inedible. Cold fish deep fried in old oil, burger overcooked and dry to the point I could hardly break it with my teeth. The chips tasted like they were cooked in the same week old oil as the fish.
great pub, we ate a great fish and chips, at the lowest price we found. 5 min waiting, you can also take away. 100 meters from St. Paul's Cathedral. Highly recommended.
